Hey Arenanet, over this past weekend I made a foolish and I want to make sure this kind of mistake doesn’t happen again. Over this past weekend A zerg I participated in cleared the Balthazar temple area, allowing the purchase of karma gear from its vendor. After browsing the vendors wears I decided the armor he provided would be a great set for my upcoming 80 elementalist and decided to purchase some pieces on with my guardian. Unfortunately I did not notice that unlike the trinkets and rings, the armor from this vender was bound on acquire and not account bound.

Here is what I suggest: in a future patch, change the armor of these vendors to be account bound rather than bind on acquire or add the ability to all specialty merchants to sell back the item you purchased for a full refund of the currency used for one hour. I believe the latter suggestion would be a much better implement. I am sure I’m not the only one to make this kind of mistake and the ability to return an item that was bought with the wrong stats or for the wrong character would be very convent.

If you want to save the karma on the items you purchased, you can transfer the pieces over to your elementalist with transmutation crystals and splitters.

… crystals and splitters sold at a gemstore near you!

That’s why this obvious QoL feature isn’t in the game.

It states quite clearly on the vendor item “Soulbound on Acquire”. It appears the player did not take the time to read what he was purchasing, I was just showing him there is a way to recover from his mistake (that is if he wants the karma more than he wants the gold to buy the gemstore items).
