So I just put 4 different messages in map chat and 2 LFG messages and I got message suppression.

Come-on Anet that’s a little over the top is it not?

I understand you don’t want spam but 4 different messages I typed and too bad.

10 to 15 messages and then block fine but 4???

Yup, made a thread about it too.

And now its been 30 mins and I still can’t Post in Map.

I had this problem one afternoon. Is your status set to invisible? That’s what I’m blaming my experience on.

I was trying to make a group for the Verdant Brink Treasure Mushroom, and every time someone joined, they immediately left and never came to the spot I was at (which is where the mushroom was). I had to keep putting the group back up and was eventually suppressed from having a description for my group. It would just put it up with no name, which was completely useless.

If the suppression is meant to prevent someone from spam creating some worthless or abusive group, I understand that. I just think it would make sense for a group to automatically leave the LFG system when it fills up, but not when it empties. I found it a bit odd that I was being punished for the strange and unhelpful actions of others that chose to join my group only to leave it nearly instantly.

Clarification: In this case, it was claiming it to be “Chat Suppression” in my chatlog, but I had actually not sent a single message to anyone during the whole ordeal, nor had the people that joined my group, so it wasn’t immediately obvious it wasn’t a bug, but instead tied to creating too many groups.

Yeah I had my commander tag up and was linking POIs and WPs in Orr for events and such and boom I got hit by message suppression. I couldn’t use map chat until the next day. :-p

It can be very frustrating. Especially when it happens to you during a TD meta event.

Try changing the actual text of the messages. If you copy/paste, they’ll block it after two times every time.

You’re doing it wrong, OP.

You aren’t supposed to talk in map chat, you’re supposed to buy gems with cash.

What I do, Sungtaro, is tack on a word or character at the beginning or end of my post. Then I re-copy the post, so next time I can do the same thing. Seems OK, except when you are saying “thanks” 3 times to people who revived you.
