Anyone else really hate when their character says their line for getting really good loot only to find out it was not actually an item? I get all excited when opening bags from events and hear that only to find out it was some stupid crafting material I will never use. I be all like “Sweet an exotic!” Nope just more worthless Bloodstone dust let me add it to the 15 other stacks I have collecting dust on an Alt. Its like Christmas morning. Get all excited then BAM! dreams dashed.

I’ve been playing long enough that my brain just automatically filters that out now.

“Sweet, sweet loot!”
“Ooh, shiny!”

Yeah, I think these one-liners are permanently burned into my ear-drums.

I went into options and turned the annoying character and NPC comments off many months ago.

Mmmmmm. Silence. Sweet silence. Just the background music.

Yeah I hate when my character says, ‘Ooh, so pretty!’ for some random bit of scrap metal or something that happens to be rare/yellow. Valuable is not the same as pretty! I guess a lot of the voice emotes sound grating or stupid after we’ve heard them so many times.

If you get disappointing loot, I’d like them to say: “Be sure to visit the cash shop!”

That is just as disappointing except there you have to pay for the privilege of being disappointed.

I get annoyed at almost everything my character says. I turned down the voices volume. Happily, this means I don’t have to listen to the voice vcting in the Personal Story, either. Or the loud, overly-repetitive NPC’s staged all around the game. Or “FOR GREAT JUSTICE FOR GREAT JUSTICE FOR GREAT JUSTICE” ad infinitum.

The only good audio in this game is the soundtrack. Which, if I may say something positive, is outstanding (if mostly taken from Guild Wars and not really applied properly to situations and settings…argh…got negative again there). I’ll stop now.

You know what annoys me more? Hearing my character say “There’s one to remember me by!” or “Hurts, doesn’kitten” when they only say it when my character is hit with a critical hit, not the other way round!

Yep I do. Sadly like most posters I have gotten used to it and don’t even check anymore because I know that it’s nothing special.

Ehh, I just hate how every human female suddenly turns into this miserly greed monster as soon as something yellow shows up. No matter what your character looks or acts like, she suddenly sounds like she should be wearing a dark cloak and wringing her hands over her ill gotten fortune, eyes darting around in paranoia, waiting for a thief.

Still better than sylvari females, though. Their lines aren’t always worse, but the voice actor was. I dread running across one in the field and hearing about her kitten ed thorns again, or the strangest way to say protected. There’s a lot of grating voice acting in the game, but only they were bad enough that I refuse to play one.

The less you expect, the less you will get disappointed. Seriously.

Here, gifts are given on holy eve. However, I don’t expect to get any, and thus I’m not disappointed at all if I don’t get any. Last christmas, I’ve actually gotten a small one, and it was awesome (because I didn’t expect it at all). First christmas gift in like 12 years!

Also, it doesn’t matter WHAT it is. The gesture is what counts.

Seriously, if you get all excited and then disappointed due to a line your character says… how old are you again? (And no, this is not meant as a personal attack or something… I just have a hard time understanding your complaint.)

Edit: Btw; crafting mats are items too. ;P
