so whats the minimum level of a mob in order for it to drop T6? ive been farming around lvl70 mobs and havent got a T6 drop yet so im wondering if i might be farming the wrong “level” of mobs in order to get T6?

It’s either level 75 or level 76…not sure which. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a T6 drop from a level 74…but I could be wrong.

I was in Straits of Devastation a few weeks ago, and I caught the meta chain that takes you across the whole area. As we progressed, we ended up in an event that had level 75s and level 76s in it (possibly due to scaling) and during that event I got some T6 mats.

Basically if you hang out in Malchors Leap or The Cursed Shore, you have more chance of getting T6. In the Straits, far less chance (you have to watch where you are) and the same in Frostgorge Sound. Naturally you don’t have to watch where you are on Southsun Cove, because the entire island is 80 plus.

You should try mobs at lvl70-71 too, my friend in the southsun event with its upscale took his lvl70 character to play there and he already got t6materials. And even tho the mobs were lvl80 u can only get drops to your lvl (like a lvl10 player will get t1-t2 materials), I assume that if you can get t6 at lvl70-71 these lvl mobs should drop them already.

75+ has been my experience both for T6 drops and the bags. cept SS cove. Good luck not hitting DR tho.

Tier of Mats is decided by the lvl of the mob. Armors and that stuff will come at ur own lvl.

Mobs of that level don’t drop T6 .. i farmed the Minotaurs in Frostgorge a while back, and they are 72 i think, and the never dropped T6 blood.

That is how it is normally but that is not the case when you are upscaled to 80 by events or WvW.

I took my level 2x Necro to Southcover and got t2-t3 drops from the skelds on the beach. Maybe since I was not in the event mobs this was diferent. I farmed the same mobs with my level 80 ranger and got t5/6 blood to drop.

Not to mention almost every T6 dropping mob in game has been nerfed to not drop T6 mats as often as they used to before, some people will claim this isn’t true or claim it is DR but those of us that farm the T6 mats and know the areas that T6 mats drop from know it to be true.
Pretty much the only decent place to acquire T6 mats right now is Southsun Cove, that is if the 200% MF buff and all the settlement events are still going on, if so then T6 blood drops good there, and so do T6 venom sacs, and you can get the scales from most the sea creatures.

But T6 bones, fangs, claws, and totems are kinda hard to acquire.
There was just a huge issue with T6 dust and Anet finally stepped in and did something, it all started with the nerfing of Orr, and now they have nerfed everthing else and these mats will soon go the way of the DUST Anet, unless someone steps in and does something, like rolls back nerfs.
