Not sure if this at all worth starting a topic for, so I apologize if it isn’t OR if it’s too newbish, but still…
Logged in today, decided to delete a not-so-successful char right off the bat. The char happened to be my last one. Hastily deleted him, AND he evidently took my log-in reward with him:).
Created another one to test something – no cigar:).

Anyway I can still get the cookie and continue on with the subsequent ones:)?

You will get next ones by daily reset, but the claimed chest is gone with your character, alas.

So did you actually claim the daily log-in chest by clicking on the shining icon? If yes, it’s gone. If not, I think it should pop again.

No, I completely forgot about the rewards and just deleted the char… it was SO getting on my nerves:).
Well, good news then:).

It seems to pop up on the first toon you log into that day. Quitting the game and reloading doesn’t change it, it still only appears on that first toon that you opened up on that day, so I’m not sure whether it will appear anywhere else if you delete it.

If it happened to be a 10 laurels bag, then it just shows how bad the new system is…

Hasty character deletions…. yeah I’ve done similar dumb things. One time I created a character in GW1 shortly after the release of Nightfall, and my account got the mini clay giant thingy that you could only get one time via a certain quest/scavenger hunt thingy. I did it, got the mini, and deleted the character that I did it on without really thinking or paying attention. Sad day.

I just recently deleted a new character with 10 tomes of knowledge and a ton of writs of experience on him. I facepalmed, but luckily those aren’t hard to come by and the leveling in GW2 isn’t much of a pain anyhow.

I’m that careless… by the way, the skins of that armor set, are they lost too? Just for the sake of knowledge.

If you equipped or otherwise soulbound/account bound the armors they should be in your wardrobe now.

The CS Team will replace first character accidental armor losses. Just submit a ticket asking for assistance. Top of Page – Support – Submit a Request.

Let me her this straight, you intentionally delete a character without checking what is on it, which by the way you can’t accidentally do as you have to type your character’s name in to delete it, and that is the system’s fault?

Well, guys and gals, I regret to inform you that the lost reward DIDN’T pop up the next day. The next log-in reward appeared as usual, but the lost one IS lost if you delete a character that’s about to receive it, even if you DON’T actually claim the reward.
And in my case it WAS the kitten bag of laurels:(((.
So be careful, stay frosty with your deletions and don’t repeat my mistake.
Gonna go cry in some distant corner of the Earth:).

I’ve done similar things too. Luckily nothing I couldn’t get back, but early on (before the wallet was introduced) I did delete a character who had about 10g on them.

Now I always check, re-check, go and do something else and then check again before deleting. I unequip absolutely everything (even stuff I don’t want to keep), remove all their extra bags and clear their inventory, then go through all the menus one last time just to make sure. Admittedly I’m not sure that would make me notice the daily reward but at least it gives more time to see it.

Did you actually take this character into the map, or delete it directly from the character screen before ever entering the actual world/map/zone?

If the former, then I would guess the reward is gone, though without claiming the blue chests, that seems odd.

If the latter, then that seems like a bug, …you might consider contact the CS Team and explain the situation. Nothing to lose.

I did take the character into the map, to dismantle some loot… I will try contacting support… no harm could come from that, true. In any case, it will surely be less harmful than a twitchy finger over the “Delete” button:).
