Missing events due to Overflow = not fun
Can someone explain to me what he’s complaining about? If anything, big events should have less people in them now because everyone who already did them won’t come back, whereas whoever does them was going to do them regardless of the one-chest-a-day change.
And my FPS went to negative numbers in every single big event even before the patch anyways. If anything, the change helps alleviate that. Just wait to do them as late as you can, or during non-peak hours. With the change, there should be a significant decrease to the amount of people doing the event at those times.
Non peak/late hours.. that’s not particularly helpful.
That may very well be the case, but unfortunately I can’t change my work hours to a grave yard shift or something just to do events. Being stuck into Overflow every time an event is due.. yeah no.
As cool as Queensdale overflow is, that is.
On some servers right now people are going into overflows because too many people are doing events, that’s what he is complaining about.

You’d think the number of people would decrease, but actually the players found an (obvious) loophole by guesting to other servers to get the chests from them. About a half hour ago, I felt the OP’s pain. The MASSIVE number of guests on Blackgate’s claw lagged me into a disconnect and brought me to an overflow server.
The thing he’s complaining about is that there are a large number of people getting shoved into overflows instead of being able to do large events on their servers. The timers are different world to world, so if it’s a convenient time, you’re going to get flooded. As one of the shove-ees tonight, it was extremely annoying, especially as my window of play is fairly narrow.
Okay, the only reason I can imagine that happens is because of the better drop rates. And do you really want them to go back to 4 blues and 1 green every chest? A possible solution is to get into the area as early as you can in the event’s window, or maybe even before it. So far I’ve done quite a few different events and never gone into an overflow.
EDIT: err can you loot the same event chest more than one time on the same character if you change servers?
I agree with iateacat, Ive been disconnected and sent to overflow twice mid fight tonight because of lag, causing me to miss a chance to loot the chests. Maybe its different for other servers but SOR is being hit hard by this, I saw several people guesting for the shadow behemoth fight before i lagged out as well.
Better drop rates don’t matter if you aren’t able to do the events.
Guesting is apparently the major source of shunting people into overflows during events. Players are watching dragontimers and the like for two servers (their own and another) to get in more of the events. To me it’s exploitive, and it is causing serious issues on already high-population servers. Guests are able to take up the spot a player from that server would usually take, and thus shunt them to overflow.
Wait. I can get a chest on my world, then guest to other worlds and get them there, as well? There’s no global timer?
