The skin itself is prestigious. It’s meant to be a long-term reward for the most dedicated of WvWers, and not plebes & try-hards such as myself

That doesnt change the fact that it should be legendary

remember legendary is also ascneded in value….

I have a wariror in legendary… and I have my other 18 main characters in full ascended, they are comparable in dmg, armor and stat points… Don’t worry too much.

1st) People would go mad if we made it legendary with no added costs, so it would have to be precursor armor with no chance to obtain unless you have done 2 full years of WvW….. compared to raids which is 6 weeks minimum for your precursor armor. and 3.5 months for the legendary armor… doing content 1 or 2 days per week.

2nd) If we would make the requirement lower e.g. bronze level it would not be prestigeous now would it?

23 lvl 80’s, 9 times map, 4ele, 4ncr, 3war, 3grd, 3rgr, 2thf, 2msm, 1eng, 1 rev.
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

The time commitment on the armor and the cost of the tier 2 armor set is already enough. Nobody says it should be legendary for the sake of being legendary everyone says it for the utility or rune swapping which to wvwers is massive. Im no wvw player and would mind them having that set being of legendary quality, looking how much it takes to aquire.

It requires no skill therefore it’s not worthy of the legendary status or perks. It’s just a skin with a time sink.

and copying a rotation someone else made and repeating it over and over in a predictable environment requires tons of skill /s

It could be a precursor to make it even with the raid legendary armor. Something tells me it might happen in the future but they’re just not ready to announce it.
And if they do, spvp players are gonna start complaining as well, wanting the same stuff to happen with their ardent glorious armor.

Personal opinion also, the triumphant armor has the potential to look a lot better than the raid legendaries, so I could definitely see raid players complain about that too

Well when people complain that raids are to hard the raiders here say no they arent they are easy.

So do the raids really require skill then?

Ironically that particular Condi thief build (so called “trapper thief”) was being abused for AGES in WvW using the same exploit that killed the raid boss, i.e… trap damage didn’t knock the thief out of stealth. Thus with certain rotations the thief could stay invisible permanently while still doing damage.

But of course ANET only saw the exploit as problem AFTER it was used to solo a Raid boss, and then nerfed it to kitten.. Just goes to show where the priorities are in this game…

Going by the amount of complaints and the average skill of the playerbase, yes it does seem to take a huge amount of skill.

Compare that to literally people afking the s*** out of wvw and still progressing title track wise etc. (and let’s not get into some of the other abuses that have started to show up)

The triumphant armor is a start in the right direction (and hopefully wvw will get more love in the future) and should be viewed as nice bonus for people who enjoy wvw. If you enjoy wvw you’ll get it eventually. If you are a casual pleb who decides he needs his rewards instantly and is anoyed he can’t scum his way to nice stuff like in previous sPvp seasons, tough cookie.

It’s because the difficulty is not really skill-related. Both groups are actually right here. The raids are easy if you have no problem organizing a static group that won’t fall apart after few failures and will remain stable for months. Otherwise, they can be extremely hard – but again, it doesn’t have much to do with skill.

Actions, not words.
