Mistward armor shouldn't be soulbound [Merged]
Why is the mistward armor soulbound? I finished the collection for mistward boots on my ele, only to find out that it’s soulbound and I can’t move it to my revenant.
Seems like a pretty major oversight to me.
Yep. That’s strange.
That should have a warning on it.
Report it as a bug, just in case it’s a mistake.
ANet may give it to you.
I agree. It’s either a really stupid oversight or a really stupid choice that Anet has gone with.
Yeah, it’s weird considering all the other chivo stuff was account bound. I needed it for my alt and now I got the shoes stuck on my Thief cuz I didn’t notice. Already reported it in the HoT thread.
As long as you have the skin unlocked after making/salvaging it (since its soulbound), what’s the fuss?
You can just reskin any same piece of armor with the skin, and there you have it. I’m sure eventually you’d end up skinning it over some ascended/legendary armor later on anyways.
I opened a ticket on this but still haven’t heard anything about not being able to wear my new Heavy Armor Mistward Thief Boots. ;P And i didn’t plan on salvaging them, since I was really hoping i could use them on my Revenant that I rolled 2 hours earlier and leveled up with all those Tomes of Knowledge they keep dumping on me.

Free exotics for alts are always good
I’m pretty sure it is an oversight.
It should be soulbound!
You shouldn’t even be able to make it on a different class!
The collection is about your class and the “journey” it took to making all those pieces.
It’s a statsless Exotic it’s not going to do your alts any good anyway.
It should be soulbound!

That’s because you can select stats on them.
I’m with the OP, since any character could get the drops that contribute to these collections, it seems like an oversight.
I agree that this should be account bound as achievements are awarded on an account basis. This is probably an oversight. I happened to notice it before I finished any of them and managed to make sure I got them on my revenant but you are definetely not the only person that has run into this problem.
@Eggshells, the item is not stat-less, it actually has a choice of 3 stat sets that you can choose yourself (one of them being the very commonly used Berserker). So yea, it is kind of a problem.
It should be soulbound!

Oh right, didn’t think of that! my bad..
Still think it should be soulbound to class that unlocked the collection.
Stuck with 2 pieces in my thief…. No warning, no nothing… it should be account till you use it!

I have 17 80s and that’s prolly on the low end of rich/alcoholics. It should be acct bound if it’s crafted, forged or from an achievement/collection. There is no reasonable argument against this.
Adding my vote to the pile. Please make Mistward armor Account bound/Soulbound on Use. Thanks!
Thanks for posting about this! My character that I sent to get the last component for the heavy gloves is a ranger. Who would have had armor soulbound to her that she could not wear.
I agree, I just got the Mistward Warfists on my guardian, who doesnt need any more gear and was hoping to use it to gear up my Revenant…but NOPE! Soulbound. FIX THIS PLEASE Anet. At least i didnt accidentally obtain an item on a different armor class… which could really happen, and has happened to other unfortunate players
This has to be an oversight. I mean even specialization weapons are account bound. Why would Mistward armor be soulbound?
Please correct this as my fresh, level 80 Revenant is still standing next to the bank in Rata Sum, naked, waiting for the day he can put some cloth on.
It should be soulbound!

So I play with Character A to do 98% of the collection and then get bored of playing that one and go play on Character B to do the last 2% of the collection and it drops on them. It should go to Character B because they finished up the last 2%? And not be possible to give to Character A who did most of the work?
I should have to monitor how close I am to getting an achievement so that the achievement award (account progress) doesn’t get bound to a character that can’t use the item? When collection items are on RNG tables for enemies you find out in the game. Where I could “accidentally” achieve the achievement while not on the character you want to use the reward on?
Hi guys. Just in case someone is still working on the armour to put it on their rev, before there’s a fix to this: if you unlock it with another char, do not open the reward chest, and it you do, do not click the piece. If you still don’t have it in your inventory, re-log and open the chest on the character you want.
So i got my first piece of the mistward armor today (the legs) while playing on my necro and the little bouncing chest in the corner popped up on my screen. Im like “oh cool, ill give these to my revenant later” and accept them….big mistake.
Now i have these exotic level heavy armor legs that i get to choose the stats for..soulbound…to my necro.
Why the hell are these soulbound and is there any plan to change them to account bound, soulbound on use?
I really hope this is a bug that will get fixed as i do not want to waste them. I get it, they are only exotics, but still this should not have happened in the first place.
+++++ That sucks! These need to be accountbound at least until you choose stats!
[RUC] Riverside United Corps! For Riverside!
Well just had the joy of finding that out, too…
Really hope arenanet decides to change that because I wanted to give all the mistguard items to my revenant to save some time and actually use the items I want to get anyway instead of buying armor and placing the skin on it.
Luckily I only bought the item only for one armor piece so I can control at least the other five items but this still sucks -.-
This is completely ridiculous! If this is going to be soulbound, then why allow light/medium class to work on the collection achievement? I too, was hoping my Revenant can use it, luckly I only wasted two pieces on Guardian (which can also use the heavy armor).
Your toons can accidentally achieve the collection (world boss, skin unlock etc.) The rest of the exotic items from collection are account bound, I don’t know why is this soulbound, must be an unintended bug.
Please fix it soon Anet.
I believe that if you salvage the item it unlocks the skin and then you can apply the skin to any other piece of armor, can you salvage those exotic pieces?
