Q:

From the wiki “Their loyal pets, which rangers tame and train, distract enemies while the rangers strike safely from a distance.”

As of right now, even if I am a mile away and send my pet to attack a mob, the mob has a freaking homing beacon and ignores everything pet does (even fears and such) and goes immediately for me.

This can’t be working as intended. Mobs should attack what is attacking them, or at the very least whatever is doing the most damage. How is it fair if I’m maximum distance, hidden behind something to break LOS, don’t fire a single shot mobs turn are a heat seeking all knowing missile 100% of the time for these higher levels.

Also interested in this. I’ve read the details on the wiki about aggro, but I find pet ability to hold aggro doesn’t really match up to the way aggro is explained. Any tips for getting pets to hold aggro better would be awesome.
