Why do they keep deleting every minor post? I’ve been trying to find some topics about peoples experience with seeing bots and stuff along those lines see what i can learn about them (i have this fascination with tracking down bots and reporting them) but every single post i find that has to do with botting some mod just says “Report them it helps anet now im locking this thread” and then the conversation has to end out of nowhere. Aside from any post I find about botting, I find posts where people are having legitimate arguments saying nothing negative and they STILL lock the thread because its “nonconstructive”. Im sorry i thought discussions about things impacting our gameplay were discussions worth having. Then they go to say that some of these topics arent meant for these forums, Is this not a gw2 forum…? My point is, Why are mods so strict over what most of the time is nothing.

Don’t sweat it too much if you get infracted. One or two infractions isn’t going to get you banned out of nowhere. I’ve gotten infracted too for straying into “too risque” topics. I just went, “Heh, yeah, I guess that was a bit too much for a general forum.” and resolved not to go that far again in future.

Well there is a list of things not to do if people actually read them. Discussing bots doesn’t develop any constructive feedback. There is a sticky that describes what to do when you see one, so no real need to make 800 more posts about it. Also in the rules is that you shouldn’t discuss their decisions. I mean how much do you need to talk about? Bots are real, they get banned, use report function if you can, and read the sticky about them. There isn’t really room for constructive feedback other than to let everyone know how the bots work, as if people need incentive to try using them..

So yea, I don’t see the point in a post on that. And then complaining about the non constructive thread being closed, what does that do? People will come in and post pro/anti arenanet stuff and that leads us back to the whole pointless journey we started with.

Had i not read the some of these posts about bots i wouldnt had known how to report the teleporting node bots before they dissapeared (click report then wait to see if they dissapear or not then confirm the report) im sure alot of people hadnt thought of that. it also raises awareness on what to look for in a bot since it can change any day.
as for what you said about the pro/anti arena net thing i cant say i disagree but sometimes i like to read the arguements as to why x class is being over powered compared to x class, it helps learn about how the classes work and then people show how its not over powered and you learn how to counter it, these arguements are like guides for classes sometimes.. if thats not constructive i dont know what is…

I got an infraction for defending Anet too. That’s not exactly bad moderation if you think about it.

I have a hunch. It is…just a hunch…

But my hunch is that it might have to do with worthless posts and the replies made thereafter.

I’ve been infracted and permanently banned. But hey, I have no hard feelings when things are sorted out lol.
