Monthly Completionist (completing daily’s)

0/1 Daily Category Complete (tier 1 of 5) so maybe 5 days??

Basically they putting a minimum time limit on completion of the monthly, no matter how fast you do the first 3 monthly’s there is no way of rushing this one :P

Clever little kittens :P

Hmm… it will likely be a lot more than 5 days then. I’m thinking 2 weeks, minimum. I tend to obsess over the monthly first and try to get it done as fast as I can so I’m going to be frustrated in February! :P

same thing as their ascended amulet being only obtainable with time.

its a time sink.

thats the new philosophy with the “laurels”.

gold = farmable and cash shoppable
karma = farmable
laurels = neither

Artificially increasing the amount of time someone needs to play to accomplish a goal will only lead to lost customers. Frankly, if I didn’t enjoy WvW, I’d be long gone.

Grinding with diminishing returns is ridiculous.
Dungeons are easy, boring, repetitive.
Crafting is useless.

I’ll get a legendary if I ever get a precursor to drop. I won’t play the toilet lottery bullkitten and I have all the other pieces. I also refuse to pay someone 700+ gold when they probably got it through the godskull exploit.

WvW, which is not what I came to this game for, is actually the ONLY thing keeping me here and with the moronic decision to reset the tiers after it’s almost fixed might just be the end, depending on how it looks after the first week or two.

and what exactly is the point of an artificially created time sink in a game with no monthly sub??

we’re playing a video game…we’re already resigned to the fact that we’re wasting our time…

In this instance, if someone were to leave the game because they weren’t able to do the Monthly Achievement in a day or two, I’d say good riddance. That’s the kind of short-attention-span having, instant-gratification-demanding kiddo (mentally, not chronologically) who’s just going to bail the moment the next “oooooh, shiny” game is released anyway. So let’s go ahead and get rid of him so worthwhile feedback isn’t cluttered with his incessant whining.

This isn’t about the monthly only. It’s about everything in this game. Everything the game has for an endgame is stretched out to appear like there is content. The only area of this game that is worth playing at the moment is WvW.

Why do you care if someone can complete their monthly in 2 days? Does it bother you that someone is a better player that you need to use such overused insults as attention starved kid or instant gratification kid? I’m not saying they don’t exist, but so many of you goofs can’t actually have an individual thought so you resort to the same old insults.

Also, your mentality of “get rid of them now” has worked so well for the major releases lately. It’s amazing how most of those games have gone free to play with a fraction of the initial population. You can bet your rear that this game would have the same fate if it had a subscription.

Lazy design, terrible coding/testing, broken, bugged, glitched content…and this is over months, not days. This game won’t even come close to the life GW1 had.

So I suppose all the people who play because they enjoy sPvP are doing it wrong? I suppose all the people who enjoy leveling alts in PvE are doing it wrong, too? As are the people pursuing legendary weapons and full ascended armor? I guess the rest of us should have checked with you before they decided which areas of this game they enjoyed.

Why do you care if someone can complete their monthly in 2 days?

It doesn’t. Not even a little. But the mentality behind the “I MUST complete this NOW” attitude does. It’s the guys who blow through content as fast as humanly possible who are the first who kitten about there being nothing to do.

Does it bother you that someone is a better player that you need to use such overused insults as attention starved kid or instant gratification kid?

If you think for one second that speed of Monthly Achievement completion in any way reflects skill then you’re so far off base that I don’t know where to even begin with a response to that question.

I’m not saying they don’t exist, but so many of you goofs can’t actually have an individual thought so you resort to the same old insults.

Petty insults? How childish.

Also, your mentality of “get rid of them now” has worked so well for the major releases lately. It’s amazing how most of those games have gone free to play with a fraction of the initial population.

If you think that SW:TOR went free to play because the BioWare/EA had the “get rid of them now” mentality then you’re sorely mistaken and woefully uninformed. TOR went free to play because it was a poorly made game. From the foundation to the fine details, TOR was poorly made.

You can bet your rear that this game would have the same fate if it had a subscription.

You can bet your rear that WoW would suffer the same fate if it didn’t already have players who’ve invested too much time and money to cut ties and walk away.

Lazy design, terrible coding/testing, broken, bugged, glitched content…and this is over months, not days. This game won’t even come close to the life GW1 had.

Lazy design? Please. Now you’re just coming across as a jaded GW player who’s kitten that AN didn’t release GW 1.5.

And since you’ve the powers of prognostication, will you be so kind as to tell me how my Houston Texans will fare next season? The disappointment of last season’s late collapse and the anticipation of awaiting the draft and free agency to see if and how we’ll improve going forward could all be eased if I knew things were going to turn out better next season.

Honestly, I think this is a good idea. They are helping the casuals feel like they don’t need to play hours per day to keep up.

The hardcore players could easily farm the monthly, get 10 laurels, on top of the 4/5 daily already out, getting 15 laurels. They could buy 30 dye, 6 pieces of rare armor, or 30 t6 crafting mats. They would easily sell these while the supply is still low, before the less hardcore/more casual players complete their monthly to get the laurels.

The hardcore players would get a jump on the items before prices drop because of more supply for the 3 items listed above. I applaud Anet for this idea, and if you weren’t whiny, inconsiderate, unappreciative players then you would to.

RIP in peace Robert
