It’s a great game, worth playing regardless of bugs. One of the best mmo’s I’ve had the pleasure of playing. Interested to see where it goes from here.

worth playing? hell yeah!
worth improving the game? hell kittening yeah!
worth supporting Anet?… mhhhhh the next few patches will make it or break it for me. most likely the march patch. if they haven’t removed/ changed some of the bigger issues by then, i will probably take and break. and try out other mmos wich have the same goals as gw2. but actually execute them all. one of the biggest let downs was legendarys and the tp in overall. the gem idea is good though.

but overall it’s great! I don’t really mind bots for now. as they are still implementing better codes to detect them.

I do like this game and it is a good change from all of the FPS I have done for the past 11 years. The issue I have is that some of the core elements are not being addressed efficiently. This was my gripe when I moved on to CoD – soon after I quit that overhyped kitten garbage.

Want to boost morale within GW2? Get Anet to drop DR and you’ll see a huge boost in morale overnight.

There is a big difference between moral and morale.

In any case, bugs are normal in MMOs. It depends a bit what is bugged. If skills don’t do what they’re supposed to or an instance doesn’t work that you need to complete a story, those are major bugs that need fixing. But bugs are part of MMOs.

I do not care for the story lines, the voice acting is horrible. The world is beautifully crafted but fails to make a connection for me. The skill bar and trait system are not very good and the game doesn’t really have a lot of cool skins for gear. The reward system is all over the place.

I no longer play but still hope that Anet will be able to turn things around. Time will tell.

It’s a game forum. The truth is not to be found here.

I you want a moral (morale maybe?) boost don’t read the forums or if you do, use the block function. Unfortunately game forums are full of negativity, since most of those who enjoy the game are actually playing it instead of arguing on forums.

I really love the lore mechanics in this game: Whenever I’ve got a spare half an hour or so, I can log into GW2, got into some area I already visited during map completion, participate in an event and simply enjoy the story behind it.

Just think of it: There are currently 301 renown hearts scattered across the world, each with its unique story. Then there are countless events which are sometimes combined into very big event chains that can last an hour or so to complete. Add to that all those small skill challenge stories or lore pieces, POIs and so on, and you easily have over 500 small tales taking place to make the universe of GW2 feel very alive and engulfing.

And please don’t say now “most of the events/hearts are similar in terms of mechanics”. That may be right, but then you could say Stargate, Star Wars and Star Trek are the same because they involve human beings fighting with ships in space…

So yes, I love this game, I love how you can invest small amounts of time into it and still be rewarded and I love how it offers yet so much content that you won’t likely be bored by anything you encounter for a long time to come.

Absolutely. At 5 months after launch, WoW had 5000 people queues on most servers, gear grind was atrocious and some classes didn’t even have talents, let alone functional ones. The game was beyond broken. Compared to that, GW2 is in a really good shape.

I do not care for the story lines, the voice acting is horrible. The world is beautifully crafted but fails to make a connection for me. The skill bar and trait system are not very good and the game doesn’t really have a lot of cool skins for gear. The reward system is all over the place.

For this one I just call GW1 into the defense. 5 months after launch, the PVE game was all but dead. There was no end goal at all except obsidian. So just wait it out. There’s nothing wrong with that. You won’t recognize the game in another 5 months from now because everything will be so smooth. It’s launch period. You should enjoy it, this is the most fun time of an MMO, where everything is fresh and new. And yes, that comes with a fair share of bugs, broken items and so on. To me, imperfections is what gives game charm.

If I can’t play Guild Wars 2 at work, I won’t work in Guild Wars 2 either.

The problem is this isn’t just glitches and bugs… it’s foundational design problems coupled with flip-flopping on design goals they set for themselves.

It’s a very shallow, weak game that doesn’t have long-term appeal to most players. It’s a shame, because it had so much potential.

Amazing and cool game, but I’m still playing other games(not of the same genre) so I don’t feel bored :P
various top-down shooters(touhou? <3), MOBA (league of legends), classic games like chess and checkers :P. GW2 is mmorpg of choice. Variety makes the most fun, at least for me.

I think this game has the best pvp(wvw) in any MMO I’ve played ever.

The communication displayed here on the forums is outstanding. With developer forum posts, blog posts, live question streams, explanations in patch notes, etc. Really really impressive and I can’t wait to see what the future brings.

On the contrary, the DR is what makes me love this game even more.

I don’t feel like I’m forced to grind for hours to keep up with content.
