Guild Wars 2

Myself and a few other players where discussing the monthly challenges that are supplied. I would like to see more choices of things I could do in the normal gameplay instead of stopping everything to concentrate on something I do not like or want to do. I know it is my choice on doing monthlies so I guess I won’t be able to do it this month.

I have 3 things completed but since I do not care for PvP or PvW my only options are jumping puzzle and Crafting. I do not enjoy either and it seems puzzle jumping is always there. To be honest I hate jumping puzzles and crafting.

Why not do like the daily and give a few more options. Let is do 200-500 ambient kills, or 200-500 of the farming (Harvesting, mining, chopping wood).

It seems to me the Monthly is something we were promised GW2 wouldn’t be, a grind. I know it is my choice and I’m not being forced to do them but I like to achieve things as well just not the crafting, and Puzzle jumping.

I again wish Anet would add more regular gameplay things to finish the game. Thanks for the forum to post my thoughts Anet I hope you see fit to give it a real look I think there are more like me than you may realize.

yknow its a shame we dont have monthly veteran slayer this time, given that i usually get those from fractals and we happen to just have the fractal patch :p

I know you don’t like crafting, but do enjoy gathering. Just gather the wood and ore to make those Masterwork Plated Dowels. You only need be a Novice (0 – 50) to craft them. A few clicks of the mouse.

Most of the monthlies can simply be done in the queensdale zerg . after that just finish off your daylies and you’re done .

Most ppl got it on day one or day 4.

In case people aren’t aware, you can also refine Essences of Luck for the Masterwork Crafting achievement. You probably have a lot of those just from salvaging blue/green gear; save them all up, give them to your Artificer, and get it in 10 mins.

Group Events/Champion Slayer are also easily done via the Living Story. See if you can get a small group going in Kessex Hills or the Tower of Nightmares; both offer Group Events and Champions aplenty!

Or you can just join the Queensdale/Frostgorge Champ trains. I find those utterly boring, so I avoid it, but it’s an option.

i know you said you don’t like crafting, but this is by far the easiest one to do this month. many people have given great suggestions. you can just get the mats, set it to however many you need to craft, click Craft. then leave go to the toilet, check out a new song on youtube, read ahlf a comic, cmoe back.. and you’ll have your monthly.

if you dislike crafting THAT much to do that, and then missing out on a monthly, then i donno what to say. : ((( you can do it!!!

i do knwo what you’re asking for though and i do feel it’s quite well rounded already each month.

though i will say i am surprised nothign fractal related was in this month. but it was last month. before the fractal update. o well.

got my monthly for this month done on the 3rd day. yeah this month’s monthly in super easy.

I hadn’t realized the “Monthly Completionist” was tied into the dailys, I too have finished the monthly without realizing. I thought it was keeping track of my progress since it said 75% after I had completed 3 of 4.

Even so I would like more options regarding this that fall within the story. Again Ambient killer, Reviving other players or NPC’s, farming, etc. They can leave the ones they use just add a few more choices. Recycling last month was a grind and as I said puzzles aren’t an option for me, can’t seem to do anything but get frustrated with them and that defeats the whole purpose of logging in to “enjoy” playing the game.

Like I said I would like to see options that can be applied through normal game play. Even the train for 100 or so Champions is a grind why make every part of it a grind?

I for one agree with the more choices for monthly. Personally, I believe just having to sell to the Black Lion Company should count towards the monthly, what with the numerous errors that always pop up while selling. 100 errors could easily count towards 1 monthly category and by all rights should. Can anyone say this is not a grind?

And I believe the point of this post is it has become and is a grind. Liven it up a bit, and not with more Living Story or Travels across the fractured dimension. It is a monthly, how about it just being about the general gameplay that occurs. That may be a grind as well, but there are so many categories to pick from, it could spice it up a bit and take away some of the dread of the first few days of each month.
