Guild Wars 2

You’ve heard this all before I’m sure, just needed to share.

For whatever reason there are very few armor skins in GW2 that I truly wish I had . Light has some great looks on human females, I admit, but I recently started a human guardian, my 4th character, and looking at the skins online there’s one (!) that I feel fits the character and it’s the tier 3 cultural, which is prohibitively expensive. Had a similar problem with my Asura ele (thankfully, there’s the Named skin) and an even more pronounced one with my Sylvari ranger, where there were virtually no skins I really liked.

Aesthetics are to a large extent the PvE end game and I’ve seen similar threads before, so I know I’m not alone. Can we have a little more choice, please? I know it’s nigh impossible to please every taste, but can we have a couple more skins for the ones among us, who like things a little less spiky and just a tiny bit more realistic perhaps?

Many people have already asked for this. I agree. We need more nice looking armor skins. I can’t seem to find any light armor that looks good on my sylvari elementalist. And i am not really happy with female medium armor either. My norn is kinda bleh.

Itk: I know how you feel about Guardian skins; I was hard-pressed to come up with a good set for mine as well. Honor of the Waves has a great heavy armor aesthetic that’s similar to the t3 cultural; what I ended up doing was embracing my “fiery wrath” side. Citadel of Flame gloves, pauldrons, and chest with draconic leggings and boots, dyed celestial and illumination. Looks “good guy” and awesome at the same time.

Town clothes, too.

My supposedly noble-born human female has only a peasant dress. And have you seen what Queen Jennah wears? I even wish I could equip armor pieces in the town clothes section so I’d at least have a choice.

I 100% agree with this. If only they put more attractive armor skins on the gem store, I guarantee you I will spend $100 buying all the ones that I like.

Hey, I’m with you there. I spent decent money in GW1 on costumes, and those were like $15 each. As long as store-bought skins are visually distinct from in-game acquired skins, I think everyone would be happy with more and better stuff available.

@Orion: mind posting a screenshot? I’m curious (despite the fact that I don’t have the time or the guild to go for dungeon armor).

Yeah, lemme see if I can figure it out real quick. It won’t be the best quality because I’m on my Mac atm, and Mac client graphics don’t go as high…

Thanks! I thought it might be, based on your OP. I maintain that you would probably like the Honor of the Waves armor though; I’d post a pic but I don’t have the set finished yet. :/
