First of all I would like to thank Chris Whiteside for giving us a response on the issue at hand. For those of us who are shaken up, we are getting some communication with ArenaNet which is better than what we were a little more than four hours ago.

There is still some lingering concerns though.

Let’s not turn this in to a bashfest where two sides are at each others throats. Because there are those of us who are still a bit confused and concerned, I’d to keep this as civil as possible so we can straight forward answers! :)

Also, don’t be afraid to ask questions here! If nothing relates to the list of questions below then feel free to post it up. Or you can message me your question VIA forum mail and I’ll add it to the list of questions.

• Chris mentioned that you (ArenaNet) will not be adding a new tier of gear every 3 months that you expect everyone to chase after and then get the next set and so on. So, is Ascended going to be the ONLY new tier to the game?
  As in we will only be staying with the Basic > Fine > Masterwork > Rare > Exotic > Ascended > Legendary flow and that is it? Or will there be more added later on as new content comes out?

• Will Legendary weapons (and armor if that happens in the future) be at equal status of Ascended, or be more powerful?
  Example: Current legendary weapons have the same strength stats as Exotic weapons. With Ascended being the new end game gear, does the same thing apply that they’ll equal their Ascended equivalents?

• Will current legendary weapons be buffed (Ascended status) at launch of the Lost Shores? If not, when will that take place?

Ascended and infusion rewards will be available in both PvE and WvW over time, and be made available through all sorts of content around the world including existing content.

With all due respect, I thank Chris White for trying to clarify the issue. However, we would really like to know whether or not Ascended will be the final new tier they introduce, and if dungeon/42k vendors will sell Ascended armor instead of Exotics?

Has already been answered. Current legendary weapons will be increased to Ascended level when they add Ascended weapons to the game at a later date.

1. On a related note to the above question, there already exist a number of rare/costly (but not Legendary) items within the game such as Mystic Weapons, the Triforge Amulet etc. Will these items also be buffed to Ascended status?

2. How will Legendary/Ascended items work within sPvP/WvW/dungeons? Will they retain their increased stats? Or is the extra stats only applied when the player is attempting the Fractals dungeon?

If that’s the case, then there’s going to be a gap between exotic weapons and legendary weapons for a period of time. This concerns me alot as it’ll give players that have obtained legendary weapons an advantage in both PvE and WvW content, stat wise.

What I would like to know is when ArenaNet plans on introducing more Ascended gear that’ll be available to the majority of players to obtain. Because the longer it’ll take for them to address these concerns the more divided the community will become.

I was mistaken. They will update the weapons once they release the Ascended weapons as well.
