One of my favorite armor sets from the game are the cultural armors. There are races that win more from the regular sets while others, in this case the sylvari, don’t look that well at all… The game pretty much tells us that a large number of sylvari grow their own clothes and base their outfits on the nature surrounding them. Few are the ones who actually wear normal clothes except for a few farmers, adventurers and members of the Pact. The town clothes once offered a major varitety but these are long gone now..

Maybe there could be a new tier? Tier 4? It could share the same price of the previous tier or just slightly more expensive. I’m sure people would love it! I know I would, especially for the sylvari. It has been hard for me to get a good look using armor pieces that are not cultural..

I would so love this! One of the complaints I often read about regarding sylvari is their lack of choices for plant-themed armor. A new set of cultural armor would be just the thing. I’d be interested in seeing new cultural armor for all the races and armor weight classes.

It’d be quite the undertaking for the art department, but this is Fashion Wars 2 after all.

Personally I think a lot of the skins are great, but I agree that a new tier would be awesome. Maybe also harder to get other then just the prize, that would make it much more satisfying to get your hands on.

Personally I don’t think players should have to jump through hoops to get cultural armor. There are a number of sets that are already like that. We don’t need every new armor set to be a trial to obtain.

Much as I like cultural armor, I don’t want additional sets of it. They’re a huge undertaking (3 tiers * 5 races = 15 armor sets ) for relatively little payoff. That’s 15 new armor sets, but any given character only gets one new option, as opposed to getting 5 new options for a character.

The math just doesn’t make sense. I’m glad they’re in the game, but they’re not an efficient use of resources.

I think they should add a 4th tier fo every race, and lower the price, switch to karma, maybe (retroactively) add cultural tokens for completed hearts in culturally tied zones, since they love those.

I may sound a bit sarcastic, but really, this could be a solution that still caters to the elite side of these sets, and give another incentive to explore/complete maps, especially with alts (out of 10 chars, i have only 3 with 100% map completion).

I would like some TIGHT leafy Sylvari cultural armor that doesn’t have a butt fluff… Because clipping makes me cringe.

Technically speaking every armor set is 15 different sets, because each race gets a different alterations anyways. It’s less forceful on the creativity department, but they still can’t just use the human armor on charr, asura, or norn.

They’re also more highly desired, making it more worth making because higher demand for it.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

Technically, but I’m not sure the level of work involved in refitting armor for a race even approaches the level of work in making new design for another race. I’m rounding down, but it would be preposterous to round up on that score.

They’re also more highly desired, making it more worth making because higher demand for it.

Players really want more armor sets in general. With race-neutral sets, they can use them as a the carrot for multiple situations (Bladed for Verdant Brink, Leystone for Dragon’s Stand, etc.) rather than just one situation that pays out differently based on your race. Armor skins are both one of the most expensive prizes to create and the most desired by players, so it makes sense to get as much mileage out of each set as possible.

Again, I like racial armor, and I’m glad we have the sets we do, but if they introduce “another Sylvari-themed set,” for example, I expect it to be wearable by all races.

Well, if they do introduce more cultural armor sets (which I hope they do at some time), let’s at least make it of exotic lvl 80 quality, perhaps even with selectable stats. But at least lvl 80 exotics. Considering the price it seems like such a waste to salvage it immediately after buying it (or selling it again to regain a bit of that gold spent).

But a big YES to more Sylvari/plant-themed armor. I have 4 Sylvari characters and all are clad in cultural armor (or TA armor), because to me “normal” armor just looks odd on them.

I’m all for more armor, something different from the butt-cape, trench coat, huge poofy extremely concealing armor we currently have. You can’t even see your norn’s tattoos or sylvari’s glow pattern in most of the stuff we have atm.

I’d actually be happy even if they made just some more culturally different outfits. we have Cook and Wedding, there could be another. and if I understand correctly, outfits are easier to make than aromr sets. just let me wear some more of those leafy thingies I see on the citizens in Grove.

I’ve always thought it would be nice if there were Cultural quests that players can go on that either rewards new armor or a currency that can be be traded in for it. Quests could take place across any number of zones in the world. The Norm for instance, pride themselves on the hunt. Imagine each day starting a new quest where you’re tasked with taking out a certain vet, champ, or legendary boss across tyria. I think that could be a lot of fun!
