Well, I just noticed that with the addition of laurels, we will have 6 types of currency available:

1. Gold
2. Karma
3. Gems
4. Tokens
5. Glory
6. Laurels

I’m concerned that more types might be added in the future as new content is available. The one scenario that has me worrying is when a player has to juggle between 10+ types of currency and to be honest, having more than 5 is a bit frightening to me.

I know that glory is pvp based, and that would leave 5 (or 4, depending your view on gems) types for PvE, but when you consider how we must balance between gold, karma, tokens, and laurels, it just seems like we’re on the verge of slowly growing convoluted.

Although they are being removed… and are nearly worthless now.

Dont forget there is around 8 different token – each is seperate currency.
If gw2 had good design it woud have glory, gold, karma, gems only. But this is becoming WoW v2….. Not to mention 3 different wintersday currencies doing the same thing….. (ugly trio).
This is not game that i bought at release. I will just do WvW and sPvP, the moment i will be subpar compared to others (wvw) i will leave game. So much grinding right now for ascended gear x.x .

I completely agree, and have to say the situation is even worse.

“4. Tokens” Becomes:
4a. Ascalonian tokens
4b. Twilight Arbor tokens
4c. Citadel of Flame tokens
4d. Fractal Relics

etc etc, you get the picture.

In addition they take up bank spots and stack at 250, yay! Would have been smarter to decrease the price of items and the amount given.

Yes, I remember this as a Problem in LOTRO, having to store and keep these various tokens. Tthat take up valuable inventory slots in the bank or in person.

Buy some bank space /poke poke :P
