More precision = less crit chance?

Hi,
I just purchased an ascended accessory and noticed something strange: when I equip it instead of my old exotic one, my precision increases by a small amount (from 1,968 to 1,979), but my crit chance drops (from 57.9% to 57.61%).

Can anyone explain why this is? Do other stats (condition damage or toughness) also influence crit chance?

Crit Chance is governed by Precision, the exact formula (and difference to ingame values) can be seen on the wiki.

So no, as far as attributes go (ignoring synergy effects from other sources), only Precision factors into that. Could be a Hero Panel display bug.

The second one matches the formula on the wiki. There might be something weird with Medallion of the Rabid because it is implemented as a skill.

Actually the second one doe not fit either. The crit chance should be 52,62, not 57,61.
(First should be 51,95)
So it looks like you have a flat increase of 6% on the first and 5% on the second one.
Easiest way to explain could be by assuming, you have attribute transforms active (like 7% of stat x converted to stat y)
Condition damage and toughness come to mind. Unfortunately, even if you combine both values (=152) you would need to have an unlikely high transformation value to get to the kind of number you need. ([152/100]*k=~21)
I will assume there is no way you were affected by any boons, food effects or external effects.
It might be helpful to repeat the test with fully repaired equipment. Im not sure, how it could cause the critchance-decrease, but it could, maybe, explain why the precision does not fit the crit chance.

I repeated the test with fully repaired equipment, the numbers are exactly the same.
I think there are no boons either (at least there is no effect symbol present).

One thing I forgot before: There is a +7% crit chance sigil on my weapon.
After removing the weapon, I get a logical result (1,866 precision and 45.23% crit chance with the ascended piece, 1855 precision and 44.71% chance with the exotic one, both match the ((Precision – 916) / 21) formula).

Though it still seems odd to me that with the +7% sigil more precision means a smaller crit chance…

There is a known but with decimal rounding in the hero panel displays. There was a recent thread similar to this but with condition duration on reddit.

Basically if you unequip everything else and are in a place you’re not downleveled you’ll see the difference accurately.

Ascended is higher. Just a display bug.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

Following the formula the first one should be 50.09% and the second one 50.61%. Since you are using a superior Sigil of Accuracy the actual numbers are 57.09% and 57.61%.

So yes, the upper screenshot has a UI-bug. It shows 57.9% even though it should show 57.09%.
