Rumor has it the new Medium armor for Males will be another trenchcoat.

Leaked according to dataminers.

This is not suprising news. Whats your source if you care to share it?

To be honest, I wouldn’t mind trenchcoats if they didn’t have such obnoxious clipping and animation issues. (The updraft while running is HORRIBLE on male characters, especially Sylvari…)

While I’d like a non-trench coat option, I can’t say I don’t enjoy a good looking trench coat … But could we have one this time that actually looks good?

While we do have some interesting medium armors, and even some decent trench coats… We have a lot of “lacking” ones as well… For example Conquest armor looks patently stupid, Studded armor makes any character look like an offspring of the michelin man, and Pirate armor has a nasty tendency to ruin any colour you use on it.

But then again this is a normal GW2 tendency when it comes to weapon and armor design. There’s so much concern with the overly exotic and flamboyant that the more “normal” stuff gets neglected.

I think the problem with armor in this game is almost everything has a skirt of some sort or it’s a very bulky trenchcoat as far as medium armor goes. Now, I like trenchcoats, but many of them are ugly and there’s too many of them. Some less inflated armor would be nice

Yeah, this is true. I like the general design of the medium karma set (minus the “hair-removig” hat…), but it seems like it comes with a mandatory order of cheeseburgers cause, good heavens, my character gains about 50 kgs everytime he puts it on… Is the armor leather or concrete?

Additionally, a lot of “trench coats” suffer from “cardboarditis”. They’re not affected by physics, so they stay rigidly in place when you move. Cue feeling like I’m wearing cardboard cutouts.

In all seriousness though, I wish they would at least properly model tail holes for charr trench coats. Having the tail clip right out the back is ugly and is keeping me from rolling my dream charr ranger and engineer.

Every once in a while when I see my ranger, I get this urge to get a pair of scissors and snip all that extra cloth off. >.>

My human female transmuted the starter armor set because there was nothing else I liked. A lot of the outfits make it look like they’re wearing about 7 layers of clothing, which is something I don’t like. But the starter armor is acceptable, so I’m not too upset about the selections.

btw i think the real problem of trenchcoats is that you see your toon always from behind and after a while it become boring to death. on sylvari is obscene and when they kneel to ress somebody they all look like princess gowns.

i don’t know what designers have against trousers and jackets or just simple medium armor, you know, like a medium armor use to be…

and for the love of the six gods make our male toon look sexy and skimpy too

Light classes need more trench coat options.

It is a cloth coat common

well trench coats are clothes, not medium armor. most of the medium armor we have in the game are actually heavy armor and most light armor are just underwear or long skirts if you are a male

You guys! Been running a ranger since like, October and I gotta say she is pretty kitten adorable. A lot of medium armor is pretty ugly, and we don’t have as nice stuff as compared to light/heavy armor…But that just means you gotta get creative!

If anybody would like any tips on good armor combinations and stuff, totally willing to help.

I’m using start armor stuff, too XP.

Really, I want something sleek and agile. Everything in medium class looks heavy. Also, I want to show off my sweet well-toned butt, thank you very much.
