Most/Least profession for leveling
My personal tastes find the Warrior and Necromancer most interesting for leveling and exploring these days. The Warrior is because the skills give me a good visceral feeling that my character is swinging/using the weapon. The Necro because each category of utility skill and each weapon feel significantly different from each other.
I’ve not felt that any of the classes are boring, but there are 3 classes that just don’t mesh well with my play style: Mesmer, Engineer, & Thief… I can’t get much more specific than they just don’t gel with how I like to play.

Probably Ranger.
It’s very forgiving but you also get another form of progression when leveling, and that is seeking pets which gives you a lot of stuff to play with. A lot of classes aren’t too interesting until they reach 80. And also as a result, you can find yourself of use even before hitting 80.
Ele comes second simply because of how involved it can get, which is good training for 80.
Most boring would be mesmer as pre-80 as you don’t get your best toys for a long while.

Ranger is very easy in the HoT areas. Engineer can be fun with all the kits but not so hot in PvE without them.
I have all other classes, most are good and interesting depending on how you play them.
Mesmers while powerful in WvW and sPvP aren’t quite as good early on in PvE They lack AoE damage skills. That makes them a bit more challenging and are likely to get less reward in large groups doing PvE events
In your opinion, which classes are fun and interesting… for leveling and exploring the game content and which professions are most boring ?
I am interested in the fun aspect of a profession while leveling to 80 more than the dmg output or how the OP the profession is
It’s hard to say without knowing what’s fun for you. Some people find it more fun to dish out high damage while being able to take a punch. Some people find certain types of skills to be more fun.
Here are some unexpected things I found while leveling:
- Guardian, which I expected to hate, was super fun — interesting mobility skills, durable, and did enough damage.
- Necro after you get some minions. You can just sort of run around with impunity for a while, allowing the ability to stop to smell the roses (or harvest them, depending).
- Dagger/Dagger elementalist — a lot of fun using the mobility skills, which also do some damage. Very squishy, so you have to kill stuff a lot (but then: it’s often easy to do that).
- Thief: thief gets a lot of mobility options and stealth, which makes running around a lot easier.
Unsurprisingly, mesmer is super annoying (because it takes time to spark up your illusions and by that time, either low-level foes are already hurting or you are). Engineer is sort of in the same boat.
Equally unsurprising, Warrior and Ranger very durable early on, relative to the game’s difficulty.

I like the warrior most. I get to turn my brain off, and murdermode on.
I found all the straight forward classes fun. So for me the least interesting were Elementalist and Mesmer but everything else was easy peasy. Mind you that’s probably changed since most of my characters were leveled years ago before nerfs and shifts and all this mess.
