Most Polished MMO

Truth has been spoken.
that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”

GuildWars2 is also for me the best game for literally years. Since I can’t stand Blizzard games (art style) and I am tired of Asia grinders I had a big hole of MMORPGs to play. I suspected US-based games always to follow the J.R.R Tolkien world with Elves and Dwarves which I can’t stand – until I learned about GuildWars’ Asuran race which dragged me into this franchse………
To me it also has some sort of underdog feel to me amongst the in the meantime developed, better-loking and graphically advanced games. You know, people come and say “Who plays that old game” and I say “I do!” and smile. These people just jump from one shiny game to the next. But I am tired of this game-hopping. I do not wish to dive into new worlds every 6 months.
I am franchise resistant. Never been a loyal fan to something like other people that are into StarWars, Final Fantasy, Tomb Raider, etc.
But GW2 is the first one I’d think I will stuck to. All the complaints on the forums about HoT and balance is somtimes incredibly pathetic. I am playing probably the most useseless profession but I keep having a blast for months straight, so either they are wrong I am just in the right spot.
GW2 offers a beautiful palette of everything in an almost perfect quality:
Graphics (sometimes it’s the engine, not the quality. Why is the light coming from two sides, e.g. under moonshine?? Or the lack of hair when putting on hats), sound, voice quality, lore, races, profession, gameplay, combat, menus and forums (I’m a splatter art fan), long-time goals (looking over to boring-grind FF14), community, support, setting of the game.
All this makes this game perfect to me. I thought FF14 would be my home and it was from 2013-2015, but it turned super stale in 2014 that I pre-ordered HoT instead of buying Heavensward. I even bought it at the Heavensward release date for ceremonial reasons^^ I could not stand this Japanese gameplay thing of “We love us each other”. The first thing you do in FF14 is: Cheering someone up with a cheesy dance because someone is sad. That is one of the first “quests”. In GW2 it was: “Inquest stole our stuff, kill them, rescue the hostages, smash their lab”. I still remember the warmth around my heart when doing this. In FF14 they say: “You are a blackmage, now do Warrior of Light stuff and be a kind guy”. That is so ridiculously stupid. In GW2 I can do what I want as Thief/Assassin without this Japanese morales nonsense, even though I can not join the Inquest…
As long as this game keeps on this way I will by my regular €20 gems every 1.5-2 months. Asura are mandatory though.
and politically highly incorrect. (#Asuracist)
“We [Asura] are the concentrated magnificence!”
Which MMO is the most polished, and why arnt you playing it?
I do on occasion play other MMOs and miss the A Net polish. Like little things I take for granted like auto deposit and a sped up crafting.
Definitely. ESO for example is a mess..
I completely agree!!! GW2 is the best ever. (And ESO…. lordy…. I wanted to like it, I was a beta tester for it way back, but it was just too late. I was already in love with GW2 by the time I finally bought it.) Trying so hard to get my daughter and her husband to turn away from WoW for five minutes to just check out GW2 and it’s like pulling teeth… One day they’ll finally get around to it and say “gosh, you were right mom.” I look forward to that day. :P
Its extremely hard to get people to leave WOW.
The major reason being that I have invested so much time in this game that if I leave it for another game , then all my invested time is lost.
If gw2 wasnt around, i wouldnt play MMOs. Hell if it werent made i probably wouldnt play games, period. GW1 was a fantastic game for its time, but I for one am so happy that instead of ANet making an improved version of the original that they decided to go in a completely new and original direction!! I will never tire of the combat in this game, evading is so responsive and it feels great to mitigate damage in this way, along with blocks etc that you have on your weapon & utilities etc.
Before gw2 i was a WoW player and i gotta say that its playstyle and many other MMOs like it are so old an stale. Mitigation based on chance, executing the same rotation for almost every situation and having to take hits constantly, with the mentality of ‘kill it before it kills you’. It just doesnt interest me anymore , and according to what i look for in a game ANet and their creation are the only ones doing it right. As you say, the game is well polished and an absolute blast in many aspects – i only wish that there was more of it!
GW2 is well executed in many ways, and like any game less so in others. All in all, I’d say it’s certainly one of the better MMOs available to play.
(I’d also like to say that SWTOR, WoW, Neverwinter and FF14 are all pretty kitten ed good and if one wishes to take a break from GW2 at some point I recommend all of them, though some more than others and some only to those with coin.)

Huh? In that game everything related to character power is transient and you basically lose it all when they release a patch. The only permanent rewards are AP, mounts and battle pets.
I found it incredibly easy to quit. New expansion, my characters are practically deleted for me.
Good day ya’ll. Thanks for the positive feedback concerning other Guild Wars 2 vs. other MMO’s. I have time to get very specific, and again it just “feels” to me like ArenaNet develops the game thoughtfully and persistently. It is actually meaningful to play. It is meaningful to spend money on because we see the developers sacrificing short-term profits to avoid one of the ultimate game-killers, “pay-to-win”. I can play casually, or I can play hardcore. I can play dress-up, or I can grind out three wins in ranked PVP (or both at the same time)! Nothing I’ve done in-game has become obsolete (remember in certain other MMO’s spending your “life-savings” on shoulder-pads that got out-dated by the latest patch). I can even be extra-specific here. Remember those exotics you worked so hard for three years ago? You can still wear them and play on high level (yes, yes, we all like to think we need our ascended-level gear). So once again thanks developers and players alike!

This is actually the reason that I feel GW2 is the easiest MMO to put down for a while and then take back up later. Wheras with many other major MMOs you basically have to grind your gear again to be fully relevant GW2’s lack of vertical gear creep means you can dive straight back in where you left off.
Getting rewarded for litteraly doing minimum in everything, or just buying your way to most prestigious items.
“Best rewarding MMO”
Ye mate, most kitten friendly it is for sure, i love it.
