Condition removal?

You would think
What event and what condition? I’m not sure I’ve seen this one.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
23 hours? How is this even possible? ô.o
Seems to be a bug so I highly doubt any dev “thought that was a good idea”.
Sure it wasn’t one of the perma conditions that are inflicted by the statues? They go when you relog to a map where they aren’t active or defeat the meta bosses.
Also, if its immobilise, did it have a condition symbol attached to it? There’s a bug which just stops your character dead in their tracks and the only way to move again beyond relogging is a dash skill of some sort. Been around since launch, not sure anyone knows how it triggers.
If not, then yeah it’s a bug

The only time that I ever saw condition durations stack high were those AoE fields the champ bat does during the Ogre chain in TD. Of course I never got as high as a day but I have gotten upwards to 8 minutes. I did a tutorial video for map completion where I ran by there and got hit by it prompting me to suicide to remove it.
It sounds like you wandered into a god statue AOE and got the debuff from it. Either that or you encountered a bug no one else has ever seen, in which case it should be reported.
Are you, by any chance, playing a build that pulls conditions to you? I have seen this happen when a poor condi necro/save yourselves guardian stands a little too close to Explorer Plinx during his event chain. There is one part where he has a 24 hour immob on him (secure the landing site) and it’s possible for players that transfer conditions to themselves to actually transfer that to themselves.

there was a bug a long time ago with risen squires applying extremely long duration cripples so that wouldn’t be a bug no one else has ever seen :P

I would agree with you that could be a possibility, but this leaves me thinking it is one of the statues:
Condition removal?
You would think
I’ve been hit by the 23 hour immobilize. It is a condition, and it can be removed with condition removal.
I have no idea what causes it, but I’ve only seen it in the cursed shore.

If you could recreate getting the condi, you should try bringing it to WVW and see if you can give it to someone else with one of those transfer your conditions abilities.

Look down in the notes.
Day-long conditions make transferring hilarious.
I used to pick up a cripple that would last 23 hours etc in Straights of Devastation on my Necro a while ago.
When some of the traits were changed, I no longer get this.
Condition removal would get rid of it, or I would transfer it to one of the nearby ambient creatures.
It was an annoyance, but I never had to log out because of it.
I just tested this now. It is near Oceanside Ordinance, the field hospital. If I have Plague Signet active I can pick up a cripple there that lasts 3 days+.

If you don’t have any way at all to remove immobilize in less than 24 hours, there is a fundamental problem with your build. This may be a bug, but the fact you had to relog indicates you have absolutely zero condition cleansing in your build, even some long cooldown ability or trait.
You may want to rethink that.
Here’s a handy list of stuff that removes conditions:
