Question says it all, which class is all around the most fun?

Depends entirely on the playstyle you like.

If you like killing noobs, go for a backstab Thief. If you like feeling invincible, then go for a bunker Guardian/Warrior/Elementalist. If you want a largely unique playstyle, then go Mesmer. Etc.

this is entirely my opinion but,

you sound like the warrior type, it’s a really popular class, VERY easy to pick up and play

you get a bunch of different types of weapons, it’s a very flexible and powerful in that you can pretty much build it any way you want and still be strong, and you can even dual wield swords or be an archer while wearing plate armor

they get really powerful attack skills like hundred blades, lots of passive buffs from a type of skill called signets and they can drop in a special type of item called a banner, it buffs everyone and functions as a weapon at the same time

of course, I could be wrong, but that’s just what I perceive from you,

if my description of the warrior sounds like fun, then by all means go for it, if it doesn’t sound like what your looking for, try telling us what you normally like to play as in mmos like world of warcraft or final fantasy

man people say that but my guild leader is a Bleed/lifesteal Necro. and she may not be all that when it come’s to single combat when it come’s to group play her Fields keep all of us alive with there lifesteal and Regan and she has easily the most servivabilaty of ANY ONE i have ever seen play

Mesmer is the most fun- that is just my opinion

It’s not like necro isn’t fun. That’s not, what they just said. Some people like comedys, others like melodrama (comparing warriors and necro/engi).

I agree, D/D ele is tons of fun.

It really just depends on the player, im having a lot of fun with scepter/dagger condition necro. and axe/sword warrior is really fun to me as well. just try out different styles and classes until you find one that suits you. Also, i agree with emikochan dual dagger ele is AWESOME!!!

if you want to PVP your options are thief, mesmer and ele.

I have only tried Ranger, Warrior, Thief and Guardian. Ranger has been the most fun to play. Warrior the most boring one. Rangers have alot of issues, but fun and you never feel alone (even though your pet’s AI = 0.)

I have an 80 Mesmer and Guardian, currently leveling an Engineer. They are all fun. Guardian is like a mac truck with a big hammer (mine is at least). My eng shoots stuff and bombs stuff. If I wanted, I could be throwing grenades and using a flamethrower….what’s not to love?

Mesmer…..well mesmer is fun to me, but maybe not to just anyone. Try one to level 30 and you will know if its fun to you or not. There’s alot to say about mesmer, but better to try it yourself and check mes forums then get into it here.

I will say that I started with Mesmer because it was so unique and complex, at first, to me. I felt it would be a good challenge, and help me learn the game well. And it did, and it is fun. However, I have to say that I learned more by tanking with my Guardian more after the fact. At least learned more about group dynamics. Leveling my gaurd was easy and fun, and she’s still fun to play anytime, but I feel I better understand the other classes in relation now. idk if that makes sense….

Don’t listen to the naysayers though, check every class forum and you will see plenty QQ from people who just can’t play, learn, or adapt. It’s all fun.

I don’t want to start a fuss here. I will say that I’ve played Necro and currently Engineer, and my experience is different. Giving evidence or supporting statements to your opinion would help validify it.

You left Guardian out of DPS. Surely an oversight. My hammer isn’t for tickling or making the group feel better about themselves, even though it does make them feel better.

You guys do realize that this topic was created 2 months ago and was dead for around 2 months as well, until PunchaYoBuns necro-ed it (his first suggestion being Necro; now that kinda fits xD), right?

OP has probably already chosen his class a long time ago.

In terms of having a lot of gimmicks, I find Guardians to be the most fun.. More so than any other class, I feel like they are the most versatile and fits almost all kinds of gameplay from support to DPS and control. Their utilities are fun too. (spirit weapons are my favorite for coolness factor). And they have the best looking elites imho. Those tomes are just awesome.

3 months into the game and I would say no character is really my main yet. I think engineer is the only one I have found that I don’t enjoy yet.

Guardian is my favorite, because i can destroy enemies head on and do massive aoe.
But i’ve also leveled a thief and Ele to 80.
Elementalist is a very fun profession to play i like the abilty to switch between 4 different skill sets.
Thief is pretty fun but i found that it’s not too great for solo playing, not bad, just not amazing.
