Lake Doric had some interesting enemies (Justiciar Agatha, Siegemaster Immelhoof etc) with their AoE placements and mechanics. I loved the AoE fest from Agatha (and those turrets!), and Siegemaster increased his AoE speed as his health trickled down. I remember Cairn the Queenslayer having a lot of HP but I don’t recall there being anything as interesting as the other two.

Let’s go back a little. I really enjoyed the Breach encounters and their mechanics in Silverwastes. I remember being wiped out the first time facing the Mordrem champions due to those obscure safespots that form midfight.

But my favorite? I really love the Ley-Line Anomaly. The first few times encountering it made me go “what on Earth is that!!!” Even now I still get thrilled chasing the thing down in a group. The fact that there needs to be two groups (coals + anomaly) makes it even better.

My absolute favorite is Twisted Marionette, followed by the battle on the Breachmaker. Both fights were challenging without being punishing. Plus, the music that played during both encounters is some of the best that Anet has ever produced.

Getting to personally dunk Scarlet at the very end didn’t hurt either.

Think current fav is the Nightmare Fractal, pretty much all of it, but especially Ensolyss with his quotes and mechanics… and the music for the whole thing, most of which was pulled from the above-mentioned Marrionette and Breachmaker: https://youtu.be/IC1r9SSpxew

Samarog is fun if only for him going for the grand slam on people who are new.

Nothing quite makes me not care about watching someone wipe in a raid when its that comical.

Gerent is one of my favourites. It has a nice balance of not being too difficult, but still requiring organisation for success. The animation (like most bosses) is exceptional on the Gerent as well.

Scarlet on the Breachmaker was fantastic fun. Really is a shame it was so limited time.

Marionette too not only because it set up Vinewrath, Gerent, Auric and any other lane based metas that came after, but also because it was near perfect in terms of balance.

Mai Trin wins it in fractals for me.

My top replayable story boss goes to Shadow of the Dragon at the end of S2. That was a fight I enjoyed solo and in a group.

Still is the PVP test dummies in HotM map >_<

Only enemies that uses player skills and builds against you, would love to see more enemies like this, would also let you learn skills in the open world to get into PVP later on etc. Lets you learn what moves to avoid and get a taste of your own tactics somewhat.

If the used those more, they could even continually update some mobs and give them changes to counter the current meta, so people have to experiment and change their tactics and strategies etc, man that would be fun.
