Most gold you made in a month
I made 700g by spending $100 on the Gemstore!
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
I would say it was this past 30 days. Ended up making ~550 gold.
However, that involved:
Selling 170 laurels worth of crafting mats
Selling all of the crafting mats I had in my bank aside from T5 and T7
Selling a ghost pepper node I got from a lucky BLC
Selling a Chaos Staff skin
Lots of lucky envelopes when they were available
So yeah, not sustainable in the slightest, but I got my precursor for it. Finally finished Frostfang.

Yeah, I did more or less the same thing when I made my Sunrise. Minus the lucky envelopes since this was before that.
I think the most was around 500g when the Frostgorge champ farm was a thing?
Over 1k once, when I found and sold a precursor.
I don’t know exact numbers, though…
850g when leaf of kudzu came outta the forge. I spent about 30g though on rares
People here think gold is hard to make. Let’s see what you guys come up with.
It is hard to make. Unless you are trying to do ingame equivalent of proving that it is easy to become a millionaire in RL, because some people do win the lottery.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
All the examples here depend on a one-time major gain in gold, as opposed to something that can be replicated month after month.
Just interesting to note.
About this much.
On the TP.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
All these gains were also made by accounts with at least one level 80. The original post where we were discussing the likelihood of it making hundreds of gold in a short time and where you came in and said how much you had made in one month, had only one level 27 with no access to most of the world bosses or to dungeons. (And you don’t get rares from these bosses until you are higher levels).
ANet may give it to you.

My PVE friend aims for 300-350g a day through Dungeons, Crafting , and long term market investments.
She is nuts and probably makes it 9/10 days. This month she will make more money then i will ever have in game, but i dont enjoy that style of game play myself.
I’m always interested in what people craft when they’re looking to clean up. What does she craft specifically?
Also, what is meant by a long-term market investment?
Lol @Wanze…yeah, pretty much that
Best month ever was 5k or so

I wish i knew exactly too lol. I know its some of the rare recipes from dungeons made from tokens , but she work the market for anything she can make a buck on. She invest in things like rare skins and minis that i know of. By long term i mean multiple month sitting in banks until market volume drops and prices increase.

Ah, okay. Cool. I wondered if it was something like that or the MF cooking recipes, which I know a lot of people make to sell also.
Around 5 February I had 600 gold, and from that time till now I’ve made a howler and a predator, while right now I’m sitting on 775 gold, and had no precursor drops, I’ve also used 100 gold on a friend to help him get a precursor, and bought 2 dyes worth in total of another 100 gold.
Pretty much dungeoning and orr farming a lot, converting some laurels to T6’s, doing daily crafts
I tend to make about 50G wallet gold a day, which doesn’t include timegated crafts which i save up and sell later on, nor does it include the T6’s and half of the ecto’s i get on a daily basis(usually 40-50 ecto’s a day)
That said, after making a predator I’ve slowed down on gold farming, dunno if I burned myself out or if i simply lack a goal right now
Also about “market investments” the clearest example is Black lion weapons, remember the chaos weapons costing 80ish gold when they released in september? imagen I bought 10 of them, which is 800 gold, if i sold them right now at the current marketprice I’d get around 200-250 on average per piece, minus taxes so 170-212.5 gold per.
So in total the investment of 800 gold would turn into 900-1325G profit

No Crafter is ever gonna publicly say what they craft for profit. That would be very counterproductive in an MMO. Being one of those ‘market minipulators’ is hardly as simple as people think. She crafts/flips a wide variety of items and strays diversified. That’s the only stable way to do it.
No Crafter is ever gonna publicly say what they craft for profit.
Well, not sure what you mean by publicly, but I’ve learned a lot about the kinds of things people craft for money simply by asking and receiving an answer. There are plenty of peeps that will talk about that kind of thing.
Making gold once you’ve hit level 80 is easy enough. I have no idea the most I’ve ever made in one month as I’ve been putting stacks of mats in my storage guild rather than selling and I’ve been crafting weapons for my own use, which drain the bank, as well as buying skins for my wardrobe. So instead of the most per month I’ll look at current equity as well as gold spent on the bigger purchases (ballpark figures for a general amount).
Currently about 1800 gold
51 ascended weapons @ 50 gold each: 2550 gold.
Mjolnir crafted: over 1000 gold
Permanent bank access: 700 gold
Buying skins for my wardrobe: maybe 2500 gold, probably more.
Skins sitting in my bank for future resale: current value, about 800 gold
Value of all the stacks of mats in guild vault: unknown
Gems bought with gold: about 1000 gold worth
Vision of the Mists, Anomaly crafted. A couple years back and don’t remember cost.
Black lion skins bought, assuming a minimum price of 8 @ 50 gold each: about 400 gold.
ANet may give it to you.

I estimate around 1000g in a month around a year ago without buying any gems or finding precursors/flipping with the trading post.
The amount is just a guess, based off of the fact that I recall my record amount of profit in a day ingame was like 170g, and there was a month or two where I would average between 20-40g profit a day.
I got Leaf of Kudzu within a month, so I’d say at least 700g.
i used craft legendary less then a month. made 35g ~ 40g a day only by running dungeon and selling items.
that month i lived like hell. everyday 2 account, run AC P1~P3, COF p1,p2, SE P1,P3 CM P1~P3 TA UP, Forward. Hotw P1,P3 TWICE.
to get that money
around 6~7 hours to finish.
All the examples here depend on a one-time major gain in gold, as opposed to something that can be replicated month after month.
Just interesting to note.
Then let me be the first to give an example that can be replicated month after month:
I made ~500g last month by grinding a bit of Silverwastes and doing a lot of ToT bag farming in Bloodtide Coast.
I don’t spend too much time on farming and I know it’s possible to get significantly more if you don’t mind spending hours upon hours of braindead farming in Bloodtide. A friend of mine makes ~3000g a month doing just that farm and a bit of Silverwastes.

That sounds like hell. I can make 40g in ~2 hours by doing the farm mentioned in my previous post.
In a month? Around the height of Silverwastes achievement hunting, I think I made around 200 or 300 gold. Even just casually playing. Finished buying all my Season 3 or whatever minis with the money.
I always play some “TP” in GW2 if I want something, me record was 1000g in a week, so I guess 4000g a month would be possible with some efforts. Boring but possible.

When I went hardcore to buy Dawn I pulled 400g in 4 days, so ~3k/month if I really tried. More typically probably 300-400g/month, I don’t try too too hard to just make gold.

During winter break I went on a GW2 binge and did as many dungeon runs+multiple Teqs within a day as I could, for 30 days. I was making 25g a day minimum, so at least 750g between December/January. If I had posted all the ectos/rares/exotics on the TP as they dropped them, easily in the 850g range. If I had converted all of that Teq karma into gold, without a doubt 1000g that month.
It just blows my mind how there are still players who complain about being poor. Half the dungeons in this game are incredibly easy (aka stack and kill) and Teq doesn’t even require partying
About 1,200-1,400 or so, maybe more.
Source: TP (buy>salvage>sell=profit)
Very little effort; maybe an hour or two each day to update orders, salvage and sell.

Made about 650g-700g in one week, by getting the precursor The Hunter drop for me during a dungeon run.
Best part? I was actually flat-out broke because I just finished making my first legendary. I could barely pay for the TP fees. XD
About 300g through selling dungeon runs for CM.
[SPQR]
I’ve never made very much gold. There was one time when I had a goal of depositing 3 gold every day, so probably that was it: About 100 gold a month
Hate stock exchange already in RL so no TP, don’t like the Dungeons/Fractals in GW2, don’t see a point in targeted farming.
By a modest mix of WvW, PvP, OpenWorld-PvE I can reach somewhere between 40-80g per month, depending on loot luck. I play 5 days a week on average and 2-3 hours/day.
well I guess ~8-10 gold a day from dungeons, 40-50 gold a month from insignias and a precursor (got the punisher pre to the moot about 5 ort 6 months ago) so say about
700-800 gold for best month
(well I do other dungeons and recieve ecto’s and t6 of course, but not normally sell those directly, though I just did so in bulk and bought all remaining dyes (need 12 more (rare) dyes for -all- dyes. Luckily the ones left are mostly cheaper ones but I am out of everything, I have 10 ecto and 2 crystaline dust left…and thus I am broke as a very unlucky begger atm… at around 3-4 gold left…)
should catch up to the world again in a month or 2… I’m saving up for ascneded armor(s) though I can only pay for 3 elonian leather atm -.-
In general I spend about the same amount as I get each month… SO I got no money available ever.. always buying stuff even if it isn’t usefull -.- But I can colo r my ascneded armor to be in -any- color I want. (except maybe 12)
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

prior to the april feature pack, i bought 150-200 laurels worth of dyes. probably made close to 300 gold that month. When maudrey came out, i made glow lamps and meaty food. got at least 200 that month. I have a current idea for my next money success, but it will be a one time thing that may or may not happen anytime soon im hoping for 600 gold from this, but they may not even implement the change that will allow me to succeed.
EDIT: if this topic is still going when they implement it, ill post my results

What is it that you typically buy to salvage and sell for profit? I’ve done the reverse (buy mats > craft > sell for profit) but I never tried doing the opposite (buy item > salvage > sell mats for profit). Care to elaborate on this?

I think the most common thing is salvaging exotics for insignias, inscriptions and upgrade components (plus ectos, common mats and dark matter).
Then you could salvage some mid tier, white/blue/green gear, mostly to get valuable common mats. That doesnt get you too much profit but you get luck on the side.
Then there are several gear items, that have a higher tier upgrade component, which makes them profitable to salvage and some lower tier upgrade components are also more valuable than others, for example sunstone, which is used to craft mawdrey.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
I had The Colossus (champ bag) and Chaos Gun (mystic forge) drop over a 2 day period a few weeks back.
Easily 500+ Gold through conventional farming without any precursor or other major (no more than 30G)drop. This isn’t the norm though, was home for almost a month because of bike accident.
When I do get lucky drops they tend to be Ascended stuffs. Often unusable stats. LOL
Private retriever of runaway NPCs
Mistband[MIST] – PVP Training guild EU
Probably 40g+/-, mostly from multiple lucky golden trophies during the new years event. My account has about 25g now, with another 8g+/- in alt accounts. Woot!
When you play TP, the money you can get is nearly unlimited. It only depends on how much money you have. If you have more to invest, the profit will be higher. I know a TP only junkie who had 40’000 gold back then. He bought himself a stack (yes 250) chaos of lyssa recipe when they were 50g~. Now they are 350g. He kinda turned 12’500g into 87’500g. I just had the money for 3 these days But still – it’s fun

I made 300 gold just selling materials and un-broken yellow drops in the TP last month. That’s just from overflow items I didn’t need from Silverwastes. I wasn’t grinding or farming for stuff, I was just having fun with my daughter’s guild and with loads of other folks there, and the gold was a surprise bonus when the stuff all sold!

Last month I increased my net worth by 4k gold (that is after buying goodies for myself, although I haven’t really made any expensive purchases in february.) I’m aiming for 5-6k+ gold gained this march alone.
I spend about 2 hours in the game per day to manage my investments and research new markets, and track them throughout the day with my nifty spreadsheet. My markets change almost on a daily basis depending on what’s profitable at the time, but when you start having large sums of money, making more is not hard at all, even without ugly market manipulations.

That market and investment stuff sounds like a lot of fun, even apart from the gold reward! The GW2 economy is so extensively interactive and involved, it’s like an entire adventure in itself!

Made 400g in 1 month, got lucky with champ boxes and people who decided they would like to mess with the market on a few crafting mats. The way its looking Ill make that and more on just a few things if I sold now.
Fractal runs when the guild is up for it.
Dungeon runs when the guild is up for it.
Picking at map completion for characters that still need it.
Personal story for characters that still need it.
LS when available (main only).
Lots of WvW.
~3-6 hours of play per day.
Lucky to get 200g in a month.
I play 1.5 hour/day silverwaste, got green/yellow item. Salvage green for essence luck, sell yellow for gold = make 1.5 g / day . So 45g/month . I’m curious how others can make profit from crafting.

when they introduce a new timegated item to any crafting profession, there will always be someone willing to pay a lot of gold for it (unless it is account bound). I think bolts of damask went for 30 25 gold the day they were released!

For the things that I track since I started tracking my profits:
3565g 95s 60c in December 2014
Emm… probably about 100g a week if I try.
Using all lvl 80 characters that are equipped enough.
Using the sprocket generating mining pick.
1-3 dungeons in that week. (which may consist of AC p1 once, and p3 twice if that.)
1-3 Teqs in that week.
Then just go out doing 2-4 world bosses a night, selling rares and/or exotics. (I may pull 1 exotic if I’m lucky) Half the rare clothing I pull gets deconned for ectos.
All the blues and greens get deconned for MF.
Sell all gathered stuff at the end of the week, or as it hits a stack of 250.
I really don’t do fractals, so no bump of profit there.
I really don’t do WvW or PvP either. So no profit there.
I don’t try to flip the TP either.
I’ve never pulled a high demand item, so no profit from those.
I have no ascended gear, still gathering stuff to do that.
If I wasn’t trying to make money, probably about 30-40 a week.
So you can see, I’m really just an average player.
