i cannot be the only one thinking how awesome it could be if certain long range abilities could be used from mounted stated :P
could even created skills for the specific purpose of cavelry tactics ^^

just putting it out there as i like Not having to mount and dismount between each enemy i encounter :P

That’s what my guild and I thought it would be, I never really considered them making mounts a new way of traversing the maps. But instead a new way to fight, like a new weapon onto themselves which would of been cool.

But im not disappointed that they are how they are, just surprised is all.

Eh, I don’t want mounted combat. I play to have my skills, not some set of gimmicks that actively takes away from my gear/trait choices.

Many alts; handle it!

can it be, that you just have seen my last posting of what kind of mount Id like, where the video shows mounted combat?. if so, then nice ^^

if not, then its also not bad, as i share with you the opinion, that implementign mounted combat would be just naturally the ultimate next step of improving Mounts as feature, WvW alongside of it and would be also the natural next step of player progressiln, that if youve mastered to mount all kinds of widl beasts, that the nrxt natrual step must be to master also the way of war with them to be able to battle also with them while you ride on them, as this would allow Anet to make soem great new content for GW2.

Id love to see some kind of Hunting ground Maps, which would be the next level of the by PoF added new feature of “Bounties” in which you have large maps on which you can navigate with your mounts on the hunt for some huge bounties kind of “Monster Hunter Style”, just with guild wars lore and flavor and its combat system mechanics

That would be so great and alot of fun. Having ranged mounted combat wil lalways remind me, how much fun I have had as kid when I played games like the Legend of Zelda, Ocarinas Mask, ridign aroudn with Epona as Link, shootign with his Bow at foes, and how epic mounted battles for example were in Twilight Princess, which is aside of OoT and MM one of the best Zeldas I played so far with mounted combat in

Made especially fun so much skilled you became at aiming whikle riding and performing perfect head shots ^^ oh the nostalgia

Rauderi:

The moment where your class, your weapon ect. also affects your mounted combat skills, based on which mount you ride on, thats what I call build diversity then for mounted combat and where your choices actually matter then also as also again your “skill”, so that mounted combat would be far off to be called just a “gimmick”

Your Trait Choices can be made easily to play a role too, once anet starts to expand the Trait System based on the Combat Mode, differentiatign Traits for “Land Combat, Water Combat and Mounted Combat” , so that each combat type would finalyl get its own unique settings of traits for all classes.

Then would finally classes lose not anymore like half their build diversity anymore, the moment they go into wate,r just because certain traits/skills don’t work there, if we would get together for mounted combat for underwater combat finally own Trait Lines.

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside
