The flying carpet is a mount that was just added into the game. How do you anti-mounts feel about that?

If you feel nothing, then I am sure adding animal mounts will not change that.

I have not logged in yet, does the carpet have a speed buff? If not then it is fine. I am not anti-mount just anti-mount with speed buff.

No, the carpet does not have a speed buff.

I have mixed feelings about the “mounts” we presently have. I do know that I do not want to see traditional mounts as they are in other games. I’m still very sure that as soon as they start giving into things like speed boosts on mounts we’ll start seeing (more) demands for things like mount battles, flying etc. I don’t want to see such things in this game, I don’t feel they would be…healthy. But that’s just my 2c.

Cosmetic only mounts are fine.

I’m glad to see positive reaction towards the magic carpets.

Meh, I’m sure it’s something we’ll see on the floor of every guild hall, if they get around to making them. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if the art for this is in part from someone messing around with some art ideas for guild halls already.

I couldn’t possibly care less. If they start adding genuine mounts that give advantage such as speed boosts etc., that is a true mount. It would also be something forcing players to buy from the gem store to gain advantage that others can easily afford that others may not.

So ride around on your toys, I don’t care because you have no advantage by doing so.

Most of those mount-wanters just want to enjoy the epic view of they’r character riding around on a spectacular horse, rather than flying from one point to another with the speed of sound. Therefore, even this carpet – a joy to their eyes. For some reason, most of mount-haters simply do not want to understand it.

Personally, I would be delighted if the developers gave them unpretentious combat skills. Just for the sake of mounted combat sensation.

However, if all the mounts will simply sold in GS – it will be just not fun.

Would I enjoy mowing over bickering quaggan costumes with a flying carpet? Oh yes. Yes I would.

There’s been a toy you can fly on in game since the witch costume was first put in. The carpet is just a different-in-look version of it; it functions the same way.

There is also the Witch’s Broom that you could count as a mount, so the flying carpet wasn’t the first “mount” added and isn’t what players would call a “real mount” or a reason to post a topic about it trying to start a flame war.

Dolyak would likely be bigger, and require changing character collision box. It would be more than just aestethics then. I’d prefer not to go there.

And yet most of those wanting pure vanity mounts, 2-3 pages later usually start talking as if +200% speed buffs were an absolute minimum.

Please change the title of the topic as the OP is talking about toys and not mounts.
