Multi-Boxing
I see nothing in the ToS that specifically points out running 2 clients is against the rules.
As of Jan 23rd Multiboxing is not allowed in any form.
I thought the TOS said 1 keypress should apply to one action on one character?
Ok, prove that it’s not my wife / son / dog playing on the other account.
Come on, who the kitten can tell?

How are they playing on at the same time on the same computer?

Unless GW2 is doing some serious snooping, you can’t tell if they are on the same PC or not. The same IP doesn’t mean anything.
And even then, a free copy of sandboxie would fix that.
ya I mean you really can’t tell if everyone is doing different action.
But most multiboxer just sync all of their character to do the same action. It is not hard to tell when 5 ranger walk and move the exact same way and shoot the same target.

Provide evidence of this please
I don’t think we’re allowed to post what the NCSoft staff said.
They ignored:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Policy-Third-Party-Programs/
They ignored everything in the forums contrary to this:

So my guess is if you play one account, then stop and then play the other, you may be okay. Playing one account at a time.
If you play both/many at the same time in anyway (1-wireless keyboard transmitter to multiple receiver computers, clone key software, KVM, maybe even using one hand per computer) your in violation.
Multiboxing was allowed in GW1. Not in GW2.

Third party software that allows an advantage over other players was not allowed for guild wwars 1, so they probably have a similar stance as far as punishments go now. So the question is does it provide you an advantage?
Of course they might bot have the same thoughts now and tbe advantage thing could be subjective (ex. Cartography made easy).
oh yes being in control of like 5 guys that move stack heals and AoEs and direct damage on a player and play in sync / sync up their combo fields is TOTALLY FAIR and doesn’t give ANY advantage at all to the person playing 5 accounts
just like in WoW where the 5 ele shams would instakill you… because that was fun right?

If you just boot up two accounts on the same machine and tab between them, controlling them with distinct inputs, they don’t care. I do that all the time and have admitted as much on the forums, in threads I know were getting official scrutiny. It’s only if you control multiple accounts with a single simultaneous input that they get upset.
Yes, 5 accounts ganking your solo account isn’t fair, nor is it a fair comparison, nor is it exclusive to multiboxing. Compare account to account, not the person’s behind the computer.
to be fair, stacking combo fields isn’t that useful, as only the first affects anything (and you can dodge it all at once), and there is a lot more reflect in gw2 compared to wow. My mesmer would love to feedback and then distortion on 5 multiboxed ranged users…

Multiboxing, which is NOT allowed in GW2, is controlling separate characters simultaneously. One key press, one response per account.

Alt+tab between accounts isn’t multiboxing. Playing each box one at a time isn’t multiboxing. This switching between accounts seems allowed in GW2.

Quoted from Wikipedia: ‘Multiboxing may be as simple as running two instances of the game on one computer (each logged in to a separate account) and switching between them.[’
Please use the term properly.

Multi-boxing is allowed. Botting, whether on a single account or by using 2 accounts is not allowed. This was clarified by ANet again in this post: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Dual-boxing-report-threat/1281256

5 accounts ganking a solo is ok if its 5 different people because it requires the manual input of 5 people. 5 accounts controlled by a person who is giving the commands only once and having the rest of the accounts automatically mimic it is very different from 5 people controlling 5 accounts. Comparing person to person seems much more intuitive than account to account imo.
Now if he’s controlling each of then 5 account separately, then I think that’s perfectly fine since its the equivalent of 5 people’s manual input
