Guild Wars 2

Hey guys,

I’ve searched the forum to look for similar topics, but couldn’t find any surprisingly!

I’m new to the game and refer to the incredibly useful GW2 wiki page to learn about the game.

Does anyone know of a way I can move away from the game and read wiki on a separate screen whilst keeping GW’s maximized? It’s also good to do things during ‘game downtime’ whilst still being able to see what’s going on ingame.

I’ve tried the Actual Multi Monitor product but it didn’t work for me on Windows 8.1

GFX card is AMD Radeon HD 7870 if that helps.

Set your game to be fullscreen windowed. Then you can freely hop between the 2 monitors even without using alt tab.

I have a dual screen too with HD7970. Here is my setup :
- windows extended desktop
- left screen as main screen because I play on this one
- taskbar moved to right screen (I have win7, don’t know how it works with win8)
- game options => display => “fullscreen windowed” (not sure about the English name of this, I’m not at home right now)

That option lets you move your mouse out of the game so you can do whatever you want on your other screen. GW2 will always run on your main monitor if you use fullscreen windowed or fullscreen, which is why you may want to move your taskbar like I did.

That’s the way I do it as well. Windowed fullscreen does tend to have some overhead. so you might lose 1-3 FPS

Or, you can use overwolf, or launch the game from steam. Both have browsers you can use for the wiki.

He already has a multi monitor setup, so there is no reason for him to waste the 2nd monitor while he is playing and clutter his GW2 screen with overlays when using browsers (or anything else) on the 2nd screen is handier.

That sill requires windowed full screen. Besides, why use a 3rd party program when it’s built-in?

I knew that the TP was relying on a browser, but how do you use it to display anything else than the TP (wiki on your screenshot) ?
Just curiosity as I have a dual screen setup
