For those of you that don’t know multi-boxing is using 2 accounts on the same computer at the same time. Is multi-boxing bannable?

As I understand it yes, if one key press accomplishes more than one action. So if you push to move forward and both characters move, that’s bannable. If you swap controls between them, it’s not?

If you’re controlling both at the same time yes.

Owning 2 accounts and playing both from the same computer is ok. As far as I know being logged into both at the same time is also ok (although not possible without 3rd party programs).

But if you’re able to play both at the same time, for example if you press W and both characters run forward together, that’s bannable.

Pretty sure OP got the definition wrong.

Multi-boxing—>open multiple clients on multiple computers.
Duel-client—>open 2 clients on the same computer.

I remember a while back someone posted a how-to-make-gold vid, which involves opening 8 clients(one park at TP and the rest at crafting stations), don’t think that guy was ever banned.

Think the definition depends on the game cause on another MMO i played it was called multi-boxing. Thnx for the quick response everyone.

Since this game doesn’t have anything similar to a /follow command and I doubt seriously you are going to manually move and attack with multiple characters at the same time, I am confident however you figured you would “multi-box” would very likely be bannable.

Multiboxing is a playstyle I have done for over 12 years, often playing 3-4 characters MANUALLY – I have never used anything other than separate keyboards, mice, screens and my hands to reach over and move, heal, fight, etcetera.

I have also run 2 characters at a time this way in GW2 in an explorable dungeon – ONLY because there is one dungeon, one path where 5 characters HAVE to be present.

I was able to do that successfully playing an elementalist and a warrior. No 3rd party software, no macros.

This game really doesn’t lend itself well to multi-boxing. But then again, neither does the other game I am currently playing…. so far.
