Q:

It may only be me but, why would ANET allow people to have accounts on competing servers. The idea of multiple accounts is great for ANET and those with less than desirable morals. The spying to enable rapid capping is getting out of hand. I watch an entire BL go down in about 10 minutes because there are people telling other where everyone on that server is located. It is a principle, have some honor for the game, why subvert the game into, as long as I win it is not cheating.

For those that oppose my thought, please enlighten…

For those that agree provide your rebuff

Just think of it this way, people who spy on a server in a video game must be the worst of the worst lol in terms of no-life-ness.

Please nerf bag types instead of class skills!

It really can’t be helped in a faction vs faction game. Back when I was playing Aion, this happened all the time too.

How can ANet stop it? Any person who does that could get around restrictions by using disposable cards with money in them and giving out wrong personal information when setting the account up. Or they could make a f2p account and level a char on it.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

I have more than one account on different servers, but I couldn’t care less about WvW.

Spies have been problematic throughout history. Why should Anet attempt to throttle that ‘realism’ for players?

People have been complaining about spies since the game came out and on the whole, the problem has always been exaggerated. Some battles have been impacted by spying, but very few matches. Typically, it’s more valuable for people to use a spare account to scout (or recruit) rather than to spy.

You don’t need spies for that anyway. Between the API and in game information you get plenty to work with.
