Multiple Accounts- do you have this problem ?
All the time. Except maybe the “really high” part, I think that’s just you.
Lol…I do. Even when I’m cognizant of the fact I don’t have HoT on that account. That ol’ muscle memory thing.
No, but I have instinctively done it in other games.
Apparently there are no updrafts when jumping off Minas Tirith for example….
It doesn’t take a second account to make the mistake. I forget in the fractal lobby, in my Rata Sum home instance, and especially in Desert Borderlands.
My WvW mantra, every time I join WvW, I chant the holy words:
“No gliding in WvW. No gliding in WvW. No gliding in WvW…”
“Understanding is a three edged sword: your side, their side, and the truth.”
“The objective is to win. The goal is to have fun.”

Does it work? I sure am tired of running back because I forgot.
The way I phrase it is, “oh, gliding is still ‘broken’ in WvW|Fractals|[insert the location]”
(yes, I realize that technically, gliding was never meant to work in those areas)

Lol, yes! All the characters on the non-flight account have falling damage traits equipped because I’d kill them all if they didn’t.
I even have this problem on my main account when I do a fractal or jump into WvW, since I spend most of my time in open world PvE.
Just curious if other people with multiple accounts have this problem.
Have you ever logged into your second account and jumped off of something really high, and only then remembered as you are tapping the spacebar furiously that you don’t have gliding on the second account?
Or is it just me? Cause I seem to do it at least three times per week.
All my accounts are HoT and kept as similar as possible. Though I do forget and face plant in WvW, FotM, Home Instances, etc.
Haven’t run into this one yet (my other preferred game has more and better aerial movement options) but I’ve died trying to dodge in a game that doesn’t have that option.
Fractal lobby. I don’t go in there very often but I’ve tried and failed to glide across those gaps several times.

Yes, and on a character I was very proud to have 0 deaths on.
That account has HoT now, with Ley-line gliding mastery unlocked.
Well it’s a relief to know I’m not the only one. And I’ve tried the dodge thing in other games too!! Don’t feel so bad with all the facepalming now. Cheers.
All the time!
My second account is a free one I don’t play often so when I do I’m always being caught out by the restrictions. I try to type in map chat and wonder why it doesn’t work, I go to sell things on the TP and then find I can’t, I try to put Aether Keys in my guild bank for my main account to use and remember I can’t.
And by far the worse of those is leaping off a cliff and only then remembering, as my character plunges to their death, that I don’t have a glider. Admittedly I did occasionally get caught out by an unexpected cliff before gliders were added, but it’s far worse now.
(Also I’ve heard that people who bought both the new Zelda game and Horizon Zero Dawn have the same problem – both games feature similar landscapes, one has a glider and the other does not – going from one to the other leads to poor Aloy falling off a lot of cliffs.)

Same problem with me. A few days back I logged on to my old WoW account and spent a minute standing in front of a mailbox wondering why the F key doesn’t work. :)
…the core of all life is a limitless chest of tales…
I made that mistake precisely once (and fortunately was not high up). Now I park my alt account somewhere on the ground.
Glad to know its not just me as well.
The other problem i have on my free account is that I normally leave at least half a dozen bodies behind me before I remember that I don’t have the full auto loot ability.
My alt account has HoT, so I haven’t had that problem.
But I almost have that problem in old story modes and WvW. >.>

Not multi account, but similar… I play GW1 a bit still, whenever I switch back, there is a 100% chance I will try to dodge roll or jump only to remember that those doesn’t exist in that game. Muscle memory takes over every time.
Would trying to scroll or otherwise change the camera on a screenshot or video count?
