they would be great as the next non-dragon big bad. Instead of various alliances, we’d have the reemergence of the Mursaat and White Mantle. It’d also open the way for us to head back down to UW iirc.

Too bad there is only 1 Mursaat known to have survived. And he disappeard over 250 years ago, so it’s not likely he’s still alive. IIRC there were only 8 remaining in Tyria during the Kytan civil war. And 7 were killed in that war, and the remaining one, Lazarus, fled into the mists.
