I’m kinda “new” in this game. Bought it 2 years ago but just got a PC that can run it on max settings about 2 months ago, so now I’m trying to enjoy it.

The thing is, maybe I’m trying to hard.

I like the combat and visuals and I’m starting to get used to the “you only farm skins” in this game but the real problem for me in this game are dungeons.

Dungeons just make the rest of the game looks bad in the way that it’s the only content that gives you a lot of raw money really fast and that is the biggest flaw of it. Other than that, the mechanics inside mostly of the dungeons are broken for me since you skip monsters and stack for bosses and if you try to fight monsters they will 1-2 shot you and don’t really drop anything that worth the time to kill them.
But if you look how the raw gold everyone make with dungeons impact all other things you can see the flaw. All mats are too expensive because everyone just buy them, amror and weapons that drop doesn’t worth enough to compete with mats that are required to lvl disciplines and craft legendaries.
It make me sad to see if I craft an Item I’ll be losing money instead of making more.

I just think dungeons should be more loot oriented and less gold oriented, I mean they should reward you with things to sell and the raw gold inc should be less so the other areas in the game can feel as rewarding as dungeons to make some wealth.

Dungeons aren’t really the main end game, most people don’t run them and Anet seems to have given up on improving them or releasing new ones :/

Dungeons rewards you with tokens which you can exchange for exotic weapons/armor, right? They are part of story line and nothing more.

Anyway, It looks like this game is not designed for grind. You only get full reward once per day.

There is a lot of other things to get a chance of good loot, like World Bosses, Jumping Puzzles(chests), WvW(rank chests, champion bags, Bags of Loot, rare chests with exotics) , sPvP(reward tracks).

It make me sad to see if I craft an Item I’ll be losing money instead of making more

Leveling crafting is long term investment. If you don’t care about ascended/legendaries and few other things, then yes, it could be money wasting.

I’m sad to hear this… fractals is a good dungeon but is hard for me to get group to run it.
I’m really hoping they launch a new expansion and make better dungeons.
You said dungeons aren’t the main end game but I can’t find anything better to farm gold and everyone I know in the game says that dungeons is the way to go to get your stuffs quick, everyone do that except for when they release new content like this story stuff but it only entertain for 2-3 days then everyone is back to run dungeons again.
Maybe I’ve been out of the game for too longe and it’s not friendly for newcommers.
I see if I want to enjoy the game and keep playing I’ll have to adapt and do stuffs I don’t think is engaging.

Yeah… and tons of raw gold that inflate the economy everyday because ppl speed run almost every dung by skiping (running pass) mostly of the content.

This is exactly the problem ive been repeating for the past 4 days, nobody plays them anymore except for a handful of people who need the tokens. There is no reason to, other then farming gold. The mechanics are broke, and no one wants to play them because they dont reward you with anything for doing it. Compounded on that, is anet’s response to the public to just disregard dungeons completely. It’s pathetic. I run out of reasons to play this game 5 minutes after I complete a LS update, which is usually boring an uninteresting.

Ask for a fractal group after reset. You’ll find people.

Maybe you could try playing the game without focusing on ‘get your stuffs quick’. Once you have ‘your stuffs’, what will you focus on then? Some acquisitions are meant to be long-term, though some players speed through the content to get their ‘stuffs’ quickly. Unfortunately, some of them then lament, saying, ‘I have nothing to do now.’

Just an alternative to consider. Welcome return. =)

I think, the truth is that most of ppl don’t like running dungeons. That’s why they introduced PvP reward tracks – do dungeons once, in story mode, then get rewards while having fun doing PvP.

Dungeons are a good way to farm gold but not every dungeon path is, nor is fractals. If your goal is farming gold, there are specific paths people do and those paths are easy to get into.

You run fractals for fractal weapon skins, ascended rings or a rare chance at a drop…or if you’re like me because you enjoy them. But they’re not great for farming gold. In the time I can get 1 gold from a fractal I can get 3-4 from easy dungeons.

Ty! Not that I want to get stuffs quick. My concern with this post is due to dungeons awarding much raw gold, inflating the economy thus making other farms feel less rewarding.
I know I can farm dungeons everyday and get all the things I need over time but I don’t want dungeons to be the only thing I have to do. Right now everyone that I ask what’s the best way to get the things I want in the game says it’s dungeon farm. I just put in here that I don’t like running dungeons that much and that they should be reworked. And I see now that’s not going to happen btw.
Crafted items worth less then the raw materials… By being a newbie I just don’t feel it’s right. It goes against every logic I saw in every MMO I’ve played so far.
As I said it’s just my 2 cents and I’m new here… I think as I said, I’ll have to adapt if I want to keep playing the game… pve at least.
I’m gonna try other things tho, long time I don’t play PVP in any game but gonna give it a try someday.
Ty for all replys and peace!
