My Feedback for GW2 - What could be improved
I am Fleeting Flash, in-game dungeon cosplayer of Reddit Refugees [RR] .
I agree with all OP, 6 months and issues are still overlooked. I am waiting on this patch if nothing significant changes to ranger or engineer i’m out(6 months still cant perma stow my kitten pet), tired of bias gameplay, broken wvw, overpowered gear, over the top tedious dungeons and frig all loot while the trading post continues to sky rocket..
Worst run trading post i’ve ever had the displeasure of being forced to use..and i’ve played countless MMORPG subscription, Free to play, buy to play, you name it… GW2 takes the cake..

The real question is whether they’re losing players faster than gaining them. I’m not seeing it.
I can support the negative outcome of this by saying the following:
As long as a company is selling their product at the release price, then it is thriving. If, however, the company begins to frequently present specials in the form of gaining extras when bying the product or selling it at a %OFF sale (etc.), then it can be said the either a) the company is slowing down, or b) the company is losing profit.
Now look at how many special sales we have seen in the past few months and ask yourself – Is GW2 as strong as it was several months ago? I suspect it is not.

I’ve never understood the condition cap stuff. If it means they get to powerful, then why are they ticking for so much damage? I JUST CAN’T COMPREHEND IT.
Dev (or somebody) please explain.
I can’t either. This is the only mmo that I’ve ever seen this mechanic in, and trust me I’ve played ALOT of games in my time.

I feel the same. I am not mad so much at the devs as I am at whomever is managing this post launch. Something is seriously wrong with the resource, personnel, and feature management of this game and it started a month after launch. The only way they’ll get the players like me to come back is to address these issues if they don’t on the 26th of this month.
I don’t understand why anyone wants a legendary. The only thing legendary about them is the grind involved.
There’s literally nothing else to do but work on a legendary. Most everything else is calendar gated, and the best repetitive content (PvP) is really lacking.
Legendary is a doomsday scenario, think about it. When there is nothing else to do, you are doomed to grinding for a legendary.
I personally have quit playing because of the sheer lack of being rewarded for my time playing.
Rewards are consistently crappy, breeding a player base of loot cynics.
You mean, as opposed to the player base of loot greedy egoists the games with dungeon/raid end game breed?
Thank you, I take the GW2 community anytime of the day over a community of people who only use you to get their purple gear.
A PvX guild for mature players with a life.
The GW2 is community is great and the game can be fun.
But I found the dungeons of GW1 and elite missions more fun than the dungeons here.
I dont agree on all this points, but i must agree in the conclusion.
I had great hopes for Guildwars 2. I was a Guildwars 1 Player almost from the start on. Naturally i was excited about Guildwars 2. And i was willing to overlook a lot of flaws in loyalty to the brand.
Sadly at the moment the game is not playable to me.
Of course im willing to explain why:
I played the Chapters of Guildwars 1, including EotN, atleast for a 30 times.
I leveled each of my 10 Character to 20, hunted for Prestige-armors, beautiful Weapons, Skills and so on.
But in Guildwars 2 i cant go on after one Character on Level 80, two on Level 30, and some more on level 15-20 (this alone shows how i wasnt able to level one by one, i had to swap to be able to still keep interested).
The Reason? The Leveling-system.
It is important to me, to be able to play the story fluently – without interruptions. But thats impossible. I finish the Storyquest appropriate for my Level – but the next one requires already four Levels over mine. What to do? Well either make Heartquests – that get repetitive over time – or go to World vs World.
But Heartquests get insanely fast boring. Even though Arenanet tried to avoid it, what happened is, that all these Quests are about: Bring me 5 of these, kill 5 of them – sounds familiar, huh?
So no, not an option for me.
What about World vs World – or as i like to call it: Zergwar.
With a low Level you only can gain experience if you get a huge Group – the Zerg. Sadly i have a rare kind of Badluck, for whenever i join the Server the Zerg gets defeated before i can even join it.
So what am i supposed to do? I simply want to play the Storyline BEFORE i discover the rest of the world, care about exploration, pvp, and so on. I dont want to wander aimlessly through the land and do events – thats what i do AFTER i played the story.
Dungeons are no option for me, if i remember the dungeons from Guildwars 1, like COF – that was fun to play! But in Guildwars 2 u have to collect these tokens to get a prestigearmor im not really interested in. And even if i was: I had to repeat the same thing over and over again!
The only thing i enjoyed was the Fractals- even though many people didnt like it. But to me that was finally a interesting way to level my Character! But I expect, that soon they wont take Characters beyond 80 anymore. And i understand. But i only do that FOR the leveling.
To me there are out of different reasons too many flaws to this game, than i would be able to go on. I could keep counting on other things that bother me, but i guess my point is clear.
To me it is a singleplayer game at the moment. Everytime i start the game with friends we end up doing different things. Because the Story doesnt want you to play them with friends – yes its possible, but it makes no sense.
Sorry Arenanet. I believed in you, but at the moment you lost me.
Im willing to return, but not until i am able to have fun while playing.
Till now it felt like working to me.
