I agree. Ignorant people saying “don’t use it if you don’t like it.” Yeah that’s not the point. It’s nice to every once and a while have some mystery and need to figure things out as players.

I disagree.

No one is forcing you to go to those sites. You only go there when you click on the link in your personal browser.

It trivializes the sense of discovery for the entire community. Yes, those people that click on the link in their personal browser affect people who don’t.

There’s a reason why storytellers use all sorts of tricks to keep the interest of their listeners. There’s a reason why LOST was so fascinating in the beginning.

It would be better if fansites were let in on some workings of the updates, but not how it’s handled right now.

The game was more engaging in the beginning, when there were lots of things to discover. Now they add more things, but they are still already discovered.

I like working things out for myself too. I rarely go to Dulfy outside of Guild Missions. I didn’t even go to her to get my Mini Liadri.

But I am glad she’s there, because there are a lot of people who need to follow the instructions, and they are very unpleasant to be around when there are no instructions to follow. Or less humorously, it’s nice to you know, help people that ask for it. That’s what typing in her URL or clicking the bookmark is, a person asking for help.

And here’s yall, saying they should be denied help because of no good reason. Because of the fallacy in believing that nobody will ever help someone else in map chat with content they did without a guide. Because guides kill communities and make you grind content. No the community kills communities, usually by being overfilled with selfishness. And grindy content is designed by the developers.

I can’t imagine that anybody could seriously believe the arguments against guides being released with content (which is something that’s been done since… Nintendo.) So I really just have to go with all of this hate being caused by base jealousy. You see her as getting preferential treatment and if you can’t get it too, then neither should she.

Tell you what, this will help you a lot.

Quit worrying about how I play the game because me knowing something about what is comming up isn’t going to effect you.

If you want to have a bubble around yourself, you need to form your own group and ask no spoilers.

I speak for my self and no one else. Only fools believe they speak for a majority.

btw I am not sure the issue is that Dulfy or any site (ten ton hammer for example) has walkthrough for the patches released. The original issue was that they had this information with walkthroughs the day before the patch.

Responses will continue to be the same though. “Just don’t look at it” Which is a valid point to be made. I am just not sure why A net would want them release that much info the day before the patch and not the day of.

To the op—if you want to read them, go there, if you dont—-then don’t go there. But trying to force Anet to change their ways so all must play the way YOU want is not only selfish but misguided. If you want a game like that-or rules like that, then form a company and design a game. If not, play the game and accept that it is your choice—but don’t try to ram YOUR WAY down others throats. And who cares when it is posted, a few hrs before or just after a patch. Every game has them, it’s your choice. Let MY choice be.

I dont know how fansites such as Dulfy come by such vast amounts of information a day or so before content release, but please stop providing fansites with information before the content is released.

If you stop funneling fansitesinformation, this might spark what we like to calll “wonder”….that feeling we got when we first logged into the game and didnt know what to expect. The experiences that ensued after the “wonder” are talked about for years.

But currently, we go to dulfy, and get a step by step guide to complete the content. And if you dont read the guide, people in map chat tell other folks how to complete parts of it anyways so it is difficult to avoid the information whether you want to follow that website or not.

This is a very interesting topic. Though, as you mentioned you can just not look at the website (thus solving your issue yourself), but people in game are giving spoilers. They can do that without early info. Thus, I think your problem is not with the fansites, but moreso something else (in game chat / filter / ect?).

Just don’t read the map chat, don’t see how you can’t take your eyes off of it, I have a hard enough time noticing people whisper me. Make the text smaller and remove the background and you’ll forget that talking is a feature in the game. No one is spoon feeding you this info, you can avoid it if you want. Not the devs fault you don’t have self control, sorry to sound rude.

I’m to busy personally interacting with my guild on TS to even notice map chat or any other text chat.
