Bosses are too hard but dont drop individual loot.
Normal mobs drop trash loots (salvage items) but drop with a low rate.
End rewards are 2 champ boxes and 1 green item.

Bottom line: totally not worth it.

just my advise: if u want to get the boss killing achivements, you better get them now before this place becomes a ghost town.

Get the meta fast. This place will be a ghost town by Friday.

This event was built for the Chinese in order to introduce skins from previous LS stuff that we already have. Too bad Anet can’t/won’t just come out and say so.

My posts are facts as I know them, or my own opinion, and do not represent any guild.

Except…. They have. Many times.

As part of the celebration of our launch in China, we’re holding an in-game festival that brings back some of the best-loved Living World content!

Must mostly they mentioned that during the china Beta Festival.

I think a dev mentioned it on the forums too.

I for one am glad they did it and made it available for US/EU. I was able to get the living story items I missed due to school.

I wonder how long they’ll continue to support US/EU Guild Wars 2.

You guys missed the point. The bosses are designed to work against zergs. My guess is that they scale to the point that it’s impossible for a zerg to pop them one at a time and still make the limit for gold. Instead, you have to break up and attack each one individually and co-ordinate taking them down at nearly the same time so no other team is overwhelmed. That much was obvious to me the moment I read about them. I’m amazed at how many of you guys missed something so simple.

However, I do agree with you guys on one point though. It’s not worth it. As far as I can tell, the average gold level reward is one rare, a masterwork and 4 champion bags. Their idea of “fun” is for us to put up capital to get the event started and then organize at least 6 teams against new boss mechanics while killing trash mobs that don’t give experience, karma, tokens or any other form of loot just for that pitiful excuse of a reward. Why should we do all of that when we can earn more zerging a SINGLE event in Orr for a lot less effort?

Yeah, this pretty much sums it up. The pavilion is not worth the time or effort. Last year’s event was a lot of fun, drew a crowd, and was rewarding. This year, the event is harder but without a corresponding increase in reward. What truly perplexes me is why Anet employees want to waste their time developing content no one is going to do beyond the initial time it takes to drop in and say, “Yeah, this sucks,” and leave never to return.

Anet seems to still be struggling in the understanding of a player desired reward system. These bosses were pretty impressive but the lack of rewards will cause people to leave it alone quickly.
Which, IMO is pretty sad, ’cause with solid rewards, could have been a good time.

Oh well.

They really screwed up an awesome event. Last time it was epic! Now, I’ve run it once and don’t want to run it anymore. At least drop mats….

After having run at least part of it now……I am puzzled as to why the Pavillion was changed so drastically. I can see scaling up the champions a bit more because of the megaservers, and reducing the drops somewhat, but to completely overhaul the npcs and their drops when it wasn’t really broken in the first place? Odd decision, imo.

I am hoping they make some adjustments to it.

Think I will wait until at least this weekend before trying it again.

I logged in for the first time in several weeks for this event, and was sort of excited to get some loot and an alt more levels. I was really disappointed in the risk vs. reward. Admittedly I was a little rusty from not playing, and died 4-5 times through two rounds of the boss events. Downed a lot, aggravated my RSI from all the jumping, dodging, and moving and finally fell back to just helping other downed players out of range of all the circles and mob mechanics.

The group I was in asked if everyone wanted to stay and get as many achievements as possible, coming up with the same reasons behind it the OP did: The place will be a ghost town in a few days once everyone has their achievements done.

In conclusion? I didn’t find the event fun, but tedious instead, especially when I saw the reward at the end of it. There’s not enough drops from killing any other mobs to be worth it either, and got tired of players running their mobs over me so they didn’t have to fight them.

It’s the sort of content that causes me to quit games because it’s not worth it, or fun. So back to a break again, in which I’ll come back to check out the next content to see if there’s anything fun. I have no interest in completing the meta-achievements for this.

Wasn’t around for the first LS: Crown Pavilion event. When I logged in today I was immediately told by my guildmates that it “is no fun” and “is not worth it”. With that impression I said, “Thanks but no thanks.”

seriously I think they’re just limiting the drops so we have to buy gems in order to get g to buy stuff off the TP

I’m cursious, tell me: how risky is zerging around with one hundred players while smashing #1 ? Do you expect to get lots of rewards by playing this way.

However, splitting your zerg in 6 and coordinate to get the simultaneous kills is difficult and thus more rewarding (it appears TTS managed to reach gold reward).

The Queens Gauntlet is intended specifically to be super hard. Your reward is a huge sense of achievement at being able to do something that not everyone else can.

It’s kind of tragic when people expect massive rewards inside a game. The game is fun, that’s the purpose of a game. Do you need things inside the game to reward you to let you know that you’re having fun? Weird.

Just my opinion,

A good video game is something you can just pick up, play and enjoy. If you have to spend more time organizing your forces than actually playing the game, it’s bad design.....loot or no loot.

Well with an organised group you can do the event every 7-8 minutes (gold rewards) and get 8 champ boxes, 3-4k karma, and mostly 50 festival tokens and arround 20 tickets.

The event is build arround tokens for people to get past rewards from living story, soon will move on and all these i think will never see them as rewards again (maybe?)

It’s a lot faster than doing 1 event per 30minutes at festival of four winds, that gives IF enough people do it and dont scale the event up maybe 30 or 40 tokens.

And its very easy to do all bosses at the same time, just hold a little at the easiers ones for others to catch up and then finish them together and you can repeat every 5-7minutes for maximum rewards.

They called us TEMPESTs, but we can use our elite to cheat death instead

What’s weird is someone thinking that rewards shouldn’t matter to players in an MMORPG. MMORPG developers use rewards to extend the life of content beyond the point where the fun inherent to new and challenging experiences is gone. MMO players expect to feel rewarded by their MMO of choice. If expecting rewards in an MMO is weird, then MMO’s are weird.

There was a thread where everyone stated their disappointment of the Pavilion coming back without the loot. Anet deleted it, bad press I guess.

I think Anet fails to understand why the crown Pavilion was popular in the first place:
It was the High magic find boosters and the amazing loot.

As it stands now it’s just a mediocre version of something that was once great.
