i know, another thread about Perplexity Runes, and to be completely honest, i was done with them since the first nerf, but i guess apparently to the thousands of PvPers who begged and pleaded to Anet to not include the set from sPvP, which i on the other hand was stoked to play around with them just for fun, i guess their last nerf wasn’t nerfy enough to make people accept them as part of a game system where i could put them on care free, and take them off at my leisure, such is the benefit of sPvP, unlike when i actually bought the set, with gold, then deleted the set after the nerf, thus, if i wanted to just mess around with them again, i would have to commit a set of them for 50 gold per character i want to experiment with.
to my point, as much as this depresses me, i had though of a nerf that i would suggest to the skills and balance team, or whoever deals with runes and sigils basically, one final nerf to finally get this set in line and so people will stop acting like they are a cancer to the game, and as well, accept them to exist in sPvP.
(1) 25 condition damage
(2) +5% confusion duration; 35 toughness
(3) 50 condition damage
(4) +10% confusion duration; 25% chance when struck to inflict 2 stacks of confusion for 6 seconds (30 second cooldown)
(5) 100 condition damage
(6) +15% confusion duration; 50% chance on interrupt, inflict 3 stacks of confusion for 6 seconds (20 second cooldown).
now i welcome debates to this too, but this is how i, if i was the dev in charge of keeping balance, would nerf this set. in contrast, i added a bit of toughness, just cause i would want it, i’ll be honest, i don’t think this set would be worth having just for offense reasons anymore, so that bit of toughness would make up for a little bit. otherwise, as you can see, the cooldowns are longer, and the intensities of confusion stacks are lower, though i made both the (4) and (6) have the same confusion duration, so a second longer on the (4), and 2 seconds short on the (6). finally, i will point out my most heartbreaking of nerfs, the 50% chance on interrupt, so the set won’t even be a certain confusion application, and i think this could be bumped to 60% in all fairness considering how much i cut the confusion stacks overall, but i am merely showing what is: “the lowest possible nerf i would accept before i would just not care if the runes even existed”.
so, what does everyone think?
