Im sorry but it dose

1. It depressing to look at
2. TO MANY MOBS ( Getting to point A to point B Is impossable With killing 50 mobs before you get there)
3. Events Suck (very basic Kill this Collect this Defend this Kill this Giant thing that takes 16mins just to kill it and get kitten loot)
4. About 1 in 4 events Skill points are bugged
5. To many Skill points ( To many Basic commune SP )
6. Very bad loot

More Reasons why i hate orr
7. All the mobs have Ways to Slow/Stop you when you try to run away
This makes Getting from point A to B Not only Long but Risky
8. Because of Reason 7 Getting to Any events Is a sudical mission
9. I keep getting Stuck in Rocks/Statues ._.

Orr is the place Zhaitan unleashed its curse upon, what were you expecting? There is still Ganderran Fields if you want to pick some daisies.

2. TO MANY MOBS ( Getting to point A to point B Is impossable With killing 50 mobs before you get there)

Yes because Orr is like the heart of Zhaitan’s army.

3. Events Suck (very basic Kill this Collect this Defend this Kill this Giant thing that takes 16mins just to kill it and get kitten loot)

Agreed. Orr events are nothing different than other maps’ events. Orr should demand different kind of effort, strategy and such.

4. About 1 in 4 events Skill points are bugged

They get fixed.

5. To many Skill points ( To many Basic commune SP )

That’s actually good.

6. Very bad loot

Yep.

It does feel very grindy and the mobs seem a bit tougher in comparison. The fact that it is depressive makes sense though. I find that a good thing. It’s not a nice place, it doesn’t feel like a nice place.

However, the rewards for being there and doing stuff there could use a bit of tweaking. I don’t spend any more time there than I absolutely have to but it should be a dreary place because…well, it is a dreary place.

It’s a game forum. The truth is not to be found here.

I found Orr to be amazing in how uncompromising it is.It’s supposed to be a zombie infested hellscape and the fact that it doesn’t cater to player convenience (i.e. roads full of risen) makes me be 100% immersed when I play in these zones.

Orr is great its the one and only place in gw2 atm that i find to be truly menacing, everything else about this game is a fairytale, but that place actually wakes you up from that fairytale a bit

I love the artistic style of the zones of Orr, so I disagree there, but I agree on most of the rest of it.

The negatives may have been balanced out if the mobs offered reasonable loot tables for all the effort, but the two hours I spent in Orr a couple nights ago didn’t even render a quarter of the income I get playing in the regions leading up to Orr. I earn more gross income from running level 40-60 zones than the 70-80 range for Orr, the net gain (loss?) isn’t even close. The first zone has some reasonable risk/reward in some areas, but the deeper into Orr you get, the worse it becomes.

I haven’t been to the Northern higher level zones yet, I’m hoping they offer a better risk/effort/reward ratio. There is something wrong when the gold sinks skyrocket in the upper levels, while the rewards don’t come close to keeping pace with the rewards.

I was with a group in Orr that passed on most DEs, because others in the group expressed that they were not worth the effort. If DEs aren’t worth the effort and kills aren’t worth the effort, what’s the point? That should be a warning sign that things are not right in Orr.

The entire region needs a major overhaul, but the most immediate fix should be to the DE rewards and the loot tables. If it was even near worth the effort, people might have been a little more forgiving of “highly challenging content”. (Things are so out of whack that a four fold increase in crafting mat drops, three fold increase in gear, a doubling of Karma and a ten fold increase in coin would probably be a good starting point).

The sad thing is that it throws up a huge barrier to enjoyment at what is already a very difficult threshold to cross for most players; the point where MMO players are supposed to “get over” the idea that the game stops at the level cap, except for very limited “end game content”. I went into GW2 knowing that the game is supposed to continue, but I still needed a couple days off from my main after hitting 80 to recommit to playing my main past 80, rather than jumping immediately to leveling up an alt. If you want people to embrace the new paradigm GW2 represents, you don’t slap them hard in the face with annoying level 80 content that is also massively unrewarding while also being just plain annoying!

I actually like the aesthetics of Orr. I can’t imagine how a place would look after being under an ocean for a few centuries but Anet has done a fantastic job of doing just that.

Well I gotta disagree with a lot of people here. I think Orr sucks. The zombies have way too much hp and are a chore to kill. I might just be burned out on zombies, but to me the design of the whole place and all the mobs is boring and unoriginal. And I get very annoyed when I hack my way through 20 stupid zombies just to reach an event that is bugged. >:(

I played engineer with turrets. I know a lot of people don’t like them. Never had a problem until Orr. Much harder to play there. But I think it is okay since it is the high level zone where your story leads you and should be not that easy. First time I used the elixir gun was there in Orr. Liked the additional heal skills that come with it. And now don’t have that much trouble anymore. You need to get used to it. There are high level resource nodes which are rare and should not be easy to reach. Annoying mobs are needed.

Events are fine. I mean… why are even people doing stuff like Shatterer and the Jormag dragon in the other 70-80 Shiverpeaks area? That events are boring! Here we have real event chaints like in the firts Orr zone where you have to support the attacks then escort people to rally point then go with them to attack Balthazar… and fail there with 50 people(at least all the few times I have been there lol but is fun, not just some stupid dragon spawning every few hours… these are the best events in the game!)

Not that many skill points are bugged. Or it depends on the server or luck. I only had one which could be unbugged by guardian. So far Iron Marches was the zone with most bugs for me(Ascalon/ Charr zone). 2 bugged skill points, 50 percent of the events buggy and even making hearts harder to complete. Orr was fine. It’s just different.

And why complain about commune? You said it already: The mobs are annoying and there are a lot of them. You need to kill them first or get past them. Commune is not that easy if they can interrupt and/ or kill you all the time.

Also the loot seems random. Everywhere. Not only in Orr.

Orr is the first endzone that feels like an endzone. Literally everything wants to kill you in there…bar a few stray unzombied Moas. I think it’s awesome in that respect.

Orr should be harder.

I agree the “mob density” in GW2 in general is excessive. It’s too high and too regular. Coupled with the constant spawns out of thin air it just gets annoying and makes the world feel grindy and futile.

But the game needs areas where even level 80 characters feel afraid. Not afraid that they’ll get stuck killing identical zombies for 20 minutes while being perma-crippled, just afraid that a single scary-looking monster (or a group of 20 tiny spiders guarding a shiny chest) will eat their face if they get too close.

Due to scalling, every location is scary and requires your attention and commitment to combat…or you play guradian, then nvm.

I play Necromancer and I solo things in Orr just fine.
Just not massive swarms at once.
I prefer to kill them one by one but I can usually handle two at a time.

If they are melee Risen then maybe even 4 at a time… Provided I don’t run straight into more Risen while kiting them in a circle.

Yerh but the thing is it quite hard to get to point a to point b with out fighting a large swarm of zombies. And sometime you get unlucky and vet/champion comes alone and Eats you alive

Am I missing something here? Shouldn’t it supposed to be hard? Isn’t it the heart of Zaithan’s army? So much for immersion if complainers find their way being patched into the game.

Also this game is easy for like 95% of it’s content. Please, let them keep something hard for those who like a challenge.

And no, I don’t play guardian, warrior or ranger. My main is an elementalist and my primary alt a necro.

You could only pick guardian or warrior to pick top three classes that never die. Try doing Orr as Elementalist, I had to respec to heavy tank build and still I get hard time 1v1 mobs because you dodge, you pull more mobs.

I’m not saying they should nerf Orr, because it’s a challenge and I like challenges. They should do something to Orr so it stops feeling like it was designed last just to fill the 70-80 zone.
