Losing crit chance by leveling up feels terrible. My Warrior had 99% crit chance at level 20 and I was really excited. Now as I level up I lose crit chance every level. My overall damage output does improve but it still feels terrible, especially because with 99% I was proccing extra bleeds more often.

I shouldn’t have been able to get 99% in the first place. The system should just be diminishing returns, not level based.

Raising the amount of precision required for each % of crit is the only way that makes sense. It’s a pretty standard way to handle leveling up for something that is % based. Stats like power and toughness and vitality don’t need to go down as you level because the numbers themselves start getting higher; a level 80 monster hits for much more damage than a level 5, but it’s roughly about the same % of your base hp. It’s not actually going down, what’s happening is that ach point of precision is worth less of a % than it was the level before. That’s why gear at level 80 has much more precision on it than gear at level 5.

You can still get a very high crit chance as warrior if that’s your primary concern.

Well the issue is it feels bad to see a number go down when leveling up.

I guess I wouldn’t mind if there were not crit procs that added utility to critical hits. Since there are such procs it’s frustrating to level up while using those procs.

A diminishing returns system would not have this issue.

Typically your gear gets better as you level, making your crit rate stay about the same. You’re just talking that the completely broken warrior trait that gives +40 precision per signet regardless of level, making you an absolutely ridiculous god of death and destruction for the first 60 levels of your character’s life. Precision does not need to be remade, but that trait does need to scale the same way signets normally do – by giving you less of a stat the lower level you are. No need to change the whole system when a single tier 1 trait is to blame.
