My problem with GW2

I don’t have enough time to play it.

I am the kind of player that had all my character slots filled with PvE characters that went through all the storylines because I wanted to play everything. Unfortunately that was when I was in high school and now that I am working I do not have enough time to play how I want. I currently have a level 60 Warrior and while I am disappointed that the Warrior has not received any bug fixes since launch I enjoy the place he is at and enjoy playing him.

I am constantly fighting myself to either play my warrior to get him closer to 80 or to play one of my other characters to get a feel for them more. I miss in GW1 Factions where you could spend 3 hours playing and your character would hit max level. You didn’t have the best build but you could at least do all the content now. It made making new characters fun and easy having such high progression. I do not want the level cap lowered. I think content needs to be reworked to show more progression through the levels and make it more fluid.

In GW1 I was going after the skill hunter title. That was an amazing title to do, you would figure out where a skill was, go to the area, find it, if it didn’t spawn you would leave then comeback till it did, you killed it then took the skill. This was a very large time and money sink considering buying a skill cost me 1 platinum each time. There is nothing like that in this game and that makes me sad.

In GW1 I excepted that I would never have the coolest looking armor, after I got my first droks armor I only got new armor after EoTN came out and that was because I wanted a new look. It took me several months to get the money and mats needed for my armor. I have accepted that I will most likely never get Tier 3 cultural armor due to the high price but I am glad about that. It is nice to have something that I can reach for that is far away and likely for me never to achieve. I will try to get the cultural armor down the line so that I can have the skin for it but it is not the end of the world for me if I don’t.

I want to get to level 80 on my Warrior so I can get the top level armor and run dungeons and be part of the End-Game that was easy to get to in GW1 and that I never did in WoW. It will take me a while to get there but I am having fun going through the game. The personal story from 50-60 was a lot of fun for me. I am hoping that when I get to 80 all the problems with dungeons are fixed, the bugs currently effecting my Warrior are fixed and they figure out how to get rid of the DR system so that people don’t get penalized for regular play.

I have high hopes for GW2 as it moves forward. When the expansion comes out and adds more content I will rejoice. I hope they do not increase the level cap and just add more level 80 content. I don’t want all the work that people are putting in to getting their gear go to waste because of a new expansion. This does not need to be WoW, GW1 did fine without raising the level gap and I think just adding new armor skins would be great, also allowing greater customization of the armor stats would go a long way into creating unique and meaningful builds.

So I ended up rambling there so for that I apologize. I am enjoying my time with GW2 and wish I had more time to play it. I like leveling my multiple characters and hope that when my Warrior finally gets to 80 that most of the bugs and issues people who rushed there saw will be resolved. GW2 is brand new and I did not expect everything to be perfect. I am looking forward to future expansions and patches to increase my enjoyment of the game.
