Guild Wars 2

It seems that a few people love posting negativity on the forums about this game.

Well here is my take on it. I played Guild Wars for many years and loved it, I personally couldn’t wait for Guild Wars 2 and I have to say that I love it.

There is no denying that the game still hold lots of bugs and the need for adjustments here and there is evident, however, on the whole a great game. It seems that ANet have worked really hard to bring a game to the market that is a little different from the normal MMORPG games on release ATM.

What gets me is that people come onto these forums and just post negative comments without the evidence to support their claims.

It’s simple; if you don’t like it, play something else. It’s clear to me that you’re wasting your time coming on to these forums to whine about a game that you dislike. You are probably in the minority anyways.

ANet, thanks for the game, all I ask is that you take a little time to answer the forums once in a while to let players now what you are doing with regards the bug fixes etc.

People have posted plenty of evidence to support viewpoints on the missteps that are being made with GW2. The majority of it gets locked or deleted. All you have to do is read/watch the GW2 Manifesto, Whiteside posts, and interviews with Mike, Colin, Eric, Ree, etc to name a few to see why people are not happy with the current direction of the game. Many are hoping the Q&A today sheds some light into why the game is headed in the direction it is currently. GW2 launched as the game we wanted that was different from the standard and on 11/15 it became just another MMORPG.

If you are happy with the game, then that is awesome. Some of us however supported the game for years, spent a lot of money to show our support prior and after launch, and at the moment feel duped by it’s current direction.

As replicant already stated, there has been and is a lot of evidence on everything that’s heading in a wrong direction.
The last part is just… wrong. And arrogant. The thread about ascended gear has shown how many people still care about the game, and many of us who complain don’t dislike the game, the opposite is true. We love the game, and we don’t want it to be ruined by ANet, breaking their promises.

I do think the “whiners” about ascended gear do love the game, and want it to succeed. Otherwise, why would they bother complaining?

That is why they are so vociferously championing their cause and complaining about it, they want to help GW2 prosper, and they want to contribute their heartfelt opinion. Negative feedback has its place just as positive feedback does. It should not be disregarded.

Personally, I love GW2. But I understand some don’t – and some do but just disagree with specific things ArenaNet is doing.

To all I would say this:

If you want to play GW2, play GW2. If you don’t want to play GW2, don’t play GW2.

All that is fine. The game is doing very well and will continue to grow and do well.

I am 100% confident that after playing other games you will return to GW2.

I agree with certain aspects of Iruwen’s post.

I wasn’t talking about the ascended gear issues; there is a lot on the forums regarding this. I did say in my original post that adjustments were needed here and there. I was talking more about players saying the game is dead etc etc.

I will say however, that the infused gear issue could be easy rectified, make all high end exotic, karma and dungeon armour already ascended (infused).

Apologies if I hit a nerve, this was not intended, I was just expressing my thoughts on the game.

Forums are always going to have people trolling for the sake of trolling.

same pattern of behavior as told in last 6 posts…

1) post disinformations without anything to support the theory

2) attack peoplepersonally

I think is clear that this game was made for people not wanting the usual mmorpg concept.
People bought new pc, gaming mouse etc etc deceived by false promises…

That is why they are upset….

Forum also are a place for discussion and feedback

It seems a proven forum minority tries to make their voice more important by the use of aforementioned strategy…

Well not only doesn t work, because we are not that naive, but also makes people suspect you are flaming or even worse………

Make posts constructive at least like most of unsatisfied customers….at least…with 2 simple steps:

1) don t attack people personally minimizing their relevance

2) if you say something that goes against visible facts, post some proofs

we did post actually the stat relevance, the manifesto and change in direction, the cost to obtain those 3 ieces of ascended gears, and lot of feedback with lot of proofs in any aspects.

Also the fact in pone patch the forum went from quite peaceful to quite upset is a further proof that is not people’s fault….

Before this derails into another thread about ascended gear: that was just an example.
