My "taking a break" thread ez read.
What I have heard lately is a lot of people are doing what you are doing and with the same reason why they are. I’m at a point where I’ll be joining those people though I might play a bit more and wait for Halo 4 and Assassin’s Creed to come out.
Its always a good idea to switch it up now and then.
I just picked up torchlight II and its very fun.
I surely will be going back and forth between the two.
I mean the three,I also picked up borderlands 2!
well thats nice. ive been wantin to play the new ME3 content and finish Sleeping Dogs, but i just cant get myself to play anything other than GW2. games without good pvp bore me. i think i may have invested about 30 hours into D3, which definitely wasnt worth the money. and smalltime games like TL2 and BL2 wont really hold anyone over for long. theyre meant to be burned through in a few days.
i may take a break, but for different reasons than yourself.

If you are interested in helpinkittenrove this game, please send me a PM, as I am currently working on several projects to overhaul the game and improve it’s play-ability.

Please skim through that thread and see if you agree with any of the mentions. Then look back towards the end of the thread an tell me if you have any additional ideas of additions to the stated ideas.
If you are interested in seeing a better future for Guild Wars 2, that is the place to start. If not, enjoy your other games.

i suggest you try to learn the current combat mechanics a little better, instead of trying to design your own game. i think youre misunderstanding a number of things. i skimmed over some of your post, and at one point i think i read that you think melee is UP. kinda cringed at that, as ive been playing a hammer guardian in all areas of pve and pvp with good effect.
You gave the game an 8/10 but yet it is not appealing enough for you to play it at all? Instead of just letting it go and doing something else, you needed / felt so strongly about it you needed to create a post here on the forums to let everyone know that this ‘8/10’ game isnt getting your rocks off anymore?
0.o really?
People keep saying “I don’t know how anyone is enjoying this game”, but I feel like what they mean is “I don’t see what hardcore MMO players would enjoy in this game.” The point being… there are other people here. And most of us are having a blast
OP, who cares. It’s a free to play game. Quit, come back when ever. Saying you won’t play again? That’s just strange.
because it’s an MMO. gw2 is just getting started baby!

Im let down. I was sold on the game I thought it was going to be well polished and had plenty of content. I have played the game and I will prolly pick it up again in a few months to see if they have fixed the current situation.
the game has PLENTY of content. you just didnt do most of it. as far as MMO goes, this is as polished as MMO’s get on release. see you in a few months! (personally, i wouldnt wanna be in Orr right now, luckily im far from it…hoping it and DE’s are fixed by the time i hit 80).
It took me 130 hours to get to level 80. That is WAY more than what big name publishers push on to customers as a “game” at the same price-point. Not to mention, I haven’t touched Orr yet or any of the dungeons besides Ascalonian Catacombs so there is plenty of content in this game.
I believe you might have just overlooked it during your speedrun through the content. It seems like a lot of people fault MMORPGs for having no end-game content when they just blazed through all of the content from level 1 to max without a thought, which is what the developers spent all of their time creating.
This game just might not be what you’re looking for in an MMORPG. It hurts to accept that since it cost you to buy the game, but at least there’s no subscription as an entry barrier.
I agree with a lot of the other posters here. Really I felt the exact same way with GW1. I had to take breaks.
I’m a huge alt-aholic, so the main reason why I play MMO’s isn’t for endgame. I play them to raise up characters. However, between the dungeons being a waste of time for me, and how little rewarded I feel when taking down PvE bosses (looking at you Champion Giant of Waste My Time -.-); in the end I really feel like I’m being punished when I play this game lol.
I don’t rush through levels either. I really love taking my time with every game I play, but my enjoyment is really beginning to run thin with this game.
So I empathize with all those out there on the verge of taking a break. Hehe
There is no problem with taking a break. Come back once you think the game is polished. They don’t expect everyone to stick around forever, it’s not a subscription game.

“the game has PLENTY of content. you just didnt do most of it…… " “….personally, i wouldnt wanna be in Orr right now, luckily im far from it…hoping it and DE’s are fixed by the time i hit 80”
Why is it when people give their honest and constructive opinion (including pros and cons) that people STILL manage to get defensive and call you out on an assumption like “you rushed through it and missed stuff”.
How can you try and discredit what he is saying as an experience AND as his opinion when you haven’t even reached 80 yourself OR exp the same zones?
Great post though…but people trying to be fanboys without having an idea what they are talking about is annoying. The state of the game is no ones fault but the developers. It is definitely not the fault of people who “rushed 80” especially since that excuse is garbage since you can easily do it casually playing.

I switched games for now simply because of the 20 minute no more loot for you code that is a plague upon the heads of people who actually play the game.
I keep waiting for ANet to come clean and say gee maybe it’s not quite working as intended or at least admit they acknowledge it’s a hardship.
I don’t think it’s fair however for other to say, well you missed all this stuff. If I recall, this game was to be played our way – I am seeing now that’s not quite the case.
I’ll never understand the logic of:
“You like the game a lot, so you’re a fanboy.”
It really just doesn’t make sense. People defend something they like, and they’re “fanboys”. Do you feel justified in disliking something others like and calling them a fanboy?
Oh, wait, I think I figured it all out. People that call others “fanboys” are just trolls.
Either way, a lot more people than you think are enjoying the game and having fun with it. Just because you don’t like it, doesn’t mean everyone else doesn’t like it. You may want to re-evaluate how you play the game if you’re not having fun, or perhaps take a break all together and come back when/if this game becomes the game you w-i-s-h (really? Profanity filter for i-s-h?) it to be.
Because the fanboys are unwilling to admit that the flaws are there. They get defensive when people post negative comments about the game. They tell people that they played the game wrong…or its not for them “go back to wow”.
Most of the people complaining in the forums aren’t doing so just to vent…. they are doing it because they actually like the game and are hoping devs read and make changes.
I can respect a player who says “I disagree and I enjoy the game because…”
But dont jump on someone elses post and tell them that they are wrong about topics they have no business commenting on….GO LEVEL you will see for yourself. You can’t argue with his assessment of 80 because you cant even compare his experience to your own yet!
Oh noes. I tried explaining something that I have seen happen in multiple MMORPGs that I’ve played and I’m being called a fanboy for it! What ever shall I do now? My life is ruined.
Take it for what you will, I’m stating what I feel is happening when a lot of people buy into MMORPGs and then they rush to the end and there’s nothing waiting for them. Especially on a game that’s about a month out on release? They just built an entire game’s worth of content from 1 – 80. Granted I don’t know if I’ve done every single zone that he did, but I’m sure it’s pretty close as I had 80% world completion by the time I hit 80, so I don’t know what exactly he did for his specific experience.
I’m not sure that the OP had constructive criticism as I just picked up on the parts where he was bashing the game for not being the most polished game ever or being what he wanted it to be.
Lol, I haven’t rushed at all. My highest is 53, and I feel there are some real issues involving how this game is being handled.
Can’t we have a discussion without throwing out insults at each other? It’s ok for other people to not agree with you, I promise.
I run this game on max settings and I have no performance issues, even in WvW. I don’t think your computer is as super as you think. Either that or your internet connection sucks.

Hes speaking about the invisible players that arent drawn immediately when you run up on a group. This does happen sometimes and from what I understand its not just a rig issue.
Point is… I have a comp too that could run any game on ultra and i see it. I can only imagine how much worse it is for people who have even above average computers.
