I know a lot of people have been complaining about this game and how the end game feels unfinished blah, blah, blah. I just want to create a topic that isn’t pointing out every negative which every game has.

First off, the combat is so much fun. I actually have to think about when to use skills and time them right to avoid incoming damage.

I am 50 levels in and have totaled probably 20 minutes of grinding. I came from a lot of MMO’s that were grind fests and the worst part is I was fine with it. If I were to continue another MMO I’m not sure how much grinding I could take now that I have played GW2.

The story is so immersive. Every time I finish a part of the story I feel like I can’t wait to be 2 -3 levels higher to start the next part. If this game had some kind of story mode where it was single player and levels didn’t matter I would play every one through.

These are just a few reasons I love the game. Despite a lot of people’s negative attitude towards it, I absolutely love the way this MMO feels and am looking forward to what aspects of the game I haven’t experienced.

I agree with your post. All except one thing. The combat still needs work in my opinion. Im getting really tired of it taking forever to kill a mob that is at my level or a little lower, but they can one or two shot me over and over. This aspect of the game is starting to really make me not like it.

We are supposed to be these awesome heroes, but we get plowed over by the least little thing. I would think we should have a little more survivability than we do.

What’s your profession? Are you dodging correctly? Is your weapon within 5 levels of you, or does the weapon strength meet or exceed weapons available from a weaponsmith for your level? Are you using your weapon skills situationally to maximize effectiveness and survivability, i.e., properly using a knockback or dodge to create distance, or a leap or pull to close it?

There’s far more to this game than standing in one spot spamming a rotation (especially considering the rotation is pretty much nonexistent in this game) and hoping you down him before he downs you.

With the combat, I’ve taken a different approach that I find makes sense. I’ve been treating my abilities and talents like a moba game, in-that I have my abilities, and they have to be timed together properly to be effective.

I’ve found that there’s no required rotation like in most MMOs, where you get chewed out for not using certain things. I’m only 20, so I could be wrong, but I feel that using certain combos can do a lot more damage, and I’ve had a lot of fun trying different approaches to fighting in the 2 days I’ve been playing. I’m new, so I could be noobing it up completely, but that’s where I stand.
