I just completed the quest for this item, and I’d just like to recommend everyone else give a try! It’s on the way to getting the precursor for Juggernaut (the Legendary hammer), but you can get the chrome effect from that Legendary without actually crafting it!

Yes! It’s probably around the 2-3 day, 500-600 gold mark for those of you thinking about the commitment level. I’d highly recommend checking out how the chrome-effect is affected by the Poly-luminescent Undulating Refractors that are currently available (black, teal, orange, and green).

Sounds like something they would nerf after enough people start doing it, and Jugg owners start complaining about it.

Nerf? Nope. They changed it to be permanently available after enough Jugg owners petitioned. That was so popular they designed in more permanent bonuses to other legendaries.

Making it a permanent object was a conscious and very nice decision on ANet’s part. I say that as someone that has not crafted any part of Juggernaut, nor am I likely to, even if the ooze would be nice to have.

I am seriously considering doing the hammer quest up until that part just to have the Ooze (I honestly think that effect is well worth the 600g). Good to know it is actually as cool as it sounds. Who knows, I might even finish up the Juggernaut depending on how close to the end it is.

What other effects are out there? I had a lot of fun with this and would do it again for other effects. I want the purple aura or confetti from Quip a lot.

It looks cool but it only lasts 5 minutes. You’ll only be metallic for a few minutes or you’ll have to keep your inventory open and keep clicking it when it times out. Hardly seems worth the time and gold for such a short duration of effect.

Activating the Mystic Chromatic Ooze will give your character the same metallic coloration as wielding The Juggernaut. The duration of this effect is 5 minutes, and this timer can be reset by reactivating the item.
