Mystic Coins...
Mystic Coins are not just for Legendaries, but other unique/exotic weapons too. It’s up to you.
Just keep them in your bank. GW2 is still very young and you never know what they will be used for in the future.
No sense selling them. You might change your mind some day about a Legendary.
But save them. You just never know.

Shows you everything you can do with them. There is Mystic weapons you can make with them, that aren’t “Legendaries”. But not really worth it (imo) as they are the same skin as the Inquest weapons, just different colors.
Otherwise there is a few trinkets you can make as well that use Mystic Coins.

Some of them have useful stats. For example, for an exotic greatsword with Berseker’s stats, the Mystic Claymore is relatively easy to obtain with coins and skill points you get from normal playing. Of course if you’re getting a dungeon weapon anyway, you wouldn’t make it, but maybe that’s not always the first priority…

These named exotic weapons are like “mini” legendaries – not nearly the time investment to create and some of them have very cool effects.
Or you could always sell the coins, at 9 silver apiece now that quickly adds up to a chunk of change.
Everything made with mystic coins is guaranteed no RNG involved, except mystic clovers, which have a bit of randomness but pay for themselves if you fail to make one— as every time you don’t get a clover, you get t6 mats (and maybe lodestones) to buy more coins, w/e to try again.
I had built up a bunch since release and recently looked over the list of items that I could use them for. I decided to sell them on the TP, which earned me over 6g so I ended up creating a new guild for the extra 50 bank slots.
So…if you sell a bunch and make enough gold you could essentially turn them into something useful if there’s nothing on the list of intended uses that interests you.
The mystic weapons sell more than selling the coins alone. You sir lost out of a lot of gold.
Sure, if I was interested in crafting them, which I’m not. That’s like saying that I could get more for my extra tire if I wait until I have all the parts to build the entire car. Well, duh!

True, but they also take skill points which you might want to use for other recipes…
Well you don’t have to be interested in making them.
If everyone would stop complaining about no gold, no drops and find out what they have on them can be used to make more gold, they wouldn’t be complaining here would they?
I don’t want any mystic weps, but when I saw how much money there are selling/ buying for, I thought about making a few in the future to get my T3 armor and legendary requirements.

Actually, I would have to be interested or else it would be uninteresting and why would I spend my valuable time doing something uninteresting?
As to the second statement…that was my point exactly. Although you seem to think that by making more gold it has to be crafted, take more mats, take lots of time, etc…while I believe that making more gold could simply equate to selling that which you’re not interested in on the TP for whatever you get. In this instance it was enough for another guild for bank storage, which sounds pretty good to me.
And lastly, in regards to your final statement…I’m not interested in any of that. Sorry.
Point is that it’s all relative. Where you see me as having missed out on a lot of gold, I see myself as having made an extra 6g that I wouldn’t have had otherwise. To you, that’s not enough. To me, it’s more than enough.
It’s all a matter of perspective and in this case neither of us are right or wrong.
You do it even if its uninteresting because it makes you money and if you need money any way possible in this game, you’d do it to even get anywhere period! Its pure logical reasoning. If players could just wake up and take advantage of it everyone would have 100s of gold and legendaries.
I do the crafting because its there and what it makes, it makes money! As long as it makes the money, it doesn’t have to matter for anything else. Even if it was boring and not interesting if it serves a larger goal, just do it.
“Ends justify the means”, as they say.
you need mystic coins to make food tray recipes.
so if you want to contribute in a meaningful way in WvW there is one way right there.

uh, no. Sorry, but I play these games to have fun. If something is boring to do, I will not do it. Doing what you stated will make me quit this game quickly.
Okay, I don’t get the complaining about how crafting Mystic weapons is uninteresting. You buy the remaining parts off the TP, get the scroll from the NPC next to the forge, put everything in the toilet, and sell the result on the TP. It takes maybe half a minute.
Just keep them in your bank. GW2 is still very young and you never know what they will be used for in the future.

I agree completely. I thought like the Original poster for a long time, then I realized, I’m sort of collecting random parts for the legendaries just by playing. If I get close without trying, why not give it a shot later in the future? I don’t have any plans to devote the time, effort and money to one now, but might someday and I’ll have the coins and parts I’ve already collected by accident to help.

Then it wasn’t intended to you. Just play like you do normally and have fun. This is for those that always Q.Q they have no gold to even repair. Make one and sell it like the guy said above me and boom no more worries about travel costs and repair costs.
If you have enough ori ingots/coins/ and an Eldridge scroll, it only takes a few minute to make and list to highest buyer. There done! You are now rich!

I think that you’ve got that backwards but to each there own.

What part of uninteresting don’t you get. It doesn’t matter to me how long it takes or how much I could make from it. I don’t enjoy the process so I’ll skip it. There’s plenty of other things that I do enjoy and I make enough gold to support my needs and desires. I can’t understand how anyone would find forging mystic weapons interesting. Again, to each there own.
BTW: I’m not complaining…read all of my post within this thread and you’ll see that it’s quite the opposite (others are complaining about what I say, not me complaining about anything).
