This past weekend, I put 4 Green items into the mystic forge and ended up with a Blue item. I know it’s possible to get an item with a lower average level (I often put 4 lvl 80 and often end up with lvl 78) but of a lower grade? The mystic forge just keeps getting worse.

Other suggestions:

Can we get a mystic forge in other cities? I prefer to go elsewhere other than Lions Arch. I was somewhat glad when the mystic forge was temporarily moved after Lions Arch was destroyed.

Can we get new forge recipes to upgrade harvesting tools? ie. 4 mining picks of the same class give 1 pick of a higher class or 4 tools of the same class for 1 random of a higher class.

All the way up to Orichalcum.

I received way too many Steel harvesting tools from loot bags and I accumulated them faster than I can bother to use them. I could destroy them but I don’t like destroying stuff.

It’s not possible to put in four greens and get a blue. It’s also not possible to get less than the average level of the inputs, except when the output is an exotic that should be L80.

There are several other existing ways to access the forge:

• Mystic Forge Conduit, allows you access from anywhere. Unfortunately, only available on the TP for ~500 gold.
• WvW Home Borderland, in your side’s garrison. Unless you are in a Tier 1 or 2 server, this should be reasonably accessible, except perhaps on Fridays after reset.
• Royal Terrace and the Captains Heir Airship, both of which are behind a gem shop wall.

I’d love the chance to something with unneeded gathering tools besides delete, but for a variety of reasons, I doubt we’ll see any recipes that can use them.

Correction. It shouldn’t be possible, but the Forge has had bugged combinations before, and it did get an update a few months ago that may have had some unintended changes bleed through. Mistakes are always possible.

That said, put this on the bug forum.

It’s possible to get a blue item out of forging four greens, but it comes with a huge level boost. It’s not a new thing either, it’s something I saw when playing around with the forge in the first month of the game’s release.

You’d only ever see it when forging lower level green equipment, which is so unprofitable that it rarely comes up.
