Wow, I’m sorry but the Mystic clover system for legendaries is just terrible implementation. There’s no logical reason why Mystic Clovers aren’t 100% in the mystic forge. I’m so frustrated right now with this game. I tried to split them up into stacks of 1 and it literally wouldn’t let me do anything other than the recipe for 10. I spent so much gold and didn’t even get a single mystic clover. This is a really horrible idea, and frankly something needs to change for the legendary system.

Devs keep talking about how they wanted Legendaries to be more meaningful, but I fail to see how RNG makes something meaningful.

Honestly an easy fix would be to let people buy Mystic Clovers on the trading post. I feel like that’s a little more reasonable…

There are two different recipes requiring different ingredients:
Gambling for 1 Mystic Clover:
1 Obsidian Shard
1 Mystic Coin
1 Glob of Ectoplasm
6 Philosopher’s Stones

Gambling for 10 Mystic Clovers:
10 Obsidian Shard
10 Mystic Coins
10 Globs of Ectoplasm
10 Mystic Crystals

Different ingredients are needed so that the game can find the proper recipe and not take any more of your Ectos etc. than you wanted it to.

While it does not resolve the OP’s issue, I learned a while back that when building a legendary weapon, make creation of the mystic clovers one of the first things you do. The reasoning is that you are going to need the majority of the non clover items it produces anyway, and depending on the quantity, you might actually be saving gold in some cases.

The Mystic Clover RNG hardly matters in the long run. It will only shift the overall price of the legendary by a few percent depending on your luck.

Or you know use one of the two Guaranteed ways to get Mystic Clovers through reward tracks…. the Mystic toilet decide provides either clover or t6 mats and they are provided in greater quantities or you can do the Guaranteed method and get them in small quantities

39 reward tracks will get you the clovers if you complete them in pvp or WvW.

Having also done the forge method, doing the method that also yields t6 is a good way to save money on the gift of fortune.

The stupid RNG is why I choose PvP tracks to get clovers. And if I’m actively working on a legendary, my monthly chest will also commit to that.

I have like 200 clovers or something just sitting in the bank that I spent 0 gold and 0 RNG on because MF recipes went obsolete long, long ago. Reward tracks give tons of them even when you dont want them. Should really just delete that kitten its worthless sigh…

I wish they had more uses for mystic clovers obsidian shards
