How high the rarity items can the mytic forge make?

Depends on what you put in.

1. 4 blues → 1 Blue with a chance of a green
2. 4 greens → 1 green with a chance of a rare
3. 4 rares → 1 rare with a chance of an exotic
4. 4 exotics → 1 exotic with a chance of a precursor

Each of the items needs to be of the same type, by which I mean, you need to use 4 armours or 4 weapons (these are not the only combinations, but I’m keeping simple and assuming that this is what you are asking)

However, you can make specific types of equipment by putting in 4 of the same type. The above example will give you a random item.

4 blue random weapons/armours → 1 blue random armour/weapon with a chance of a random green armour/weapon

But you can put in 4 of 1 type. For example

4 blue axes → 1 blue axe with a chance of 1 green axe

This scales up using the first system I posted.

Also, for the random combination you can replace 1 of the items with a Mystic forge stone.

does it take into account level differences? I got two Exotics for map completing a zone yesterday which i have no use for, and are lvl 70.

Wondering if I can put them in others and get a lvl 80 exotic out, or whether to just TP them.

To get a level 80 out I think the average lvl has to be 75+ but there is an element of RnG in that, there have been reported cases where people are putting in 4 lvl 80 exotics and getting a level 78 exotic back, Anet have not confirmed if this is a bug or intentional ,

For exotics, you cannot mix armor and weapons, ( or at least the last time I used the forge you couldn’t )

Personally if your asking, so that you can play the forge, ( DONT ) its a totally gold sink, and will leave you feeling pretty disappointed in the end results.

You can forge all rarities in the Mystic Forge.

From blue to rare as mentioned above.

Then you can also forge special exotic weapons, ascended backpacks and legendary weapons with specific recipes.

I don’t think there are level requirements per se. Since Exotics are only available at 70+ you can put those in with other Exotics of the same or higher level and have a good chance at getting back a higher level or unique exotic.

There may be level brackets, by which I mean you have to put items within the same level range, 70-80, or 60-70, but I haven’t tested that so don’t quote me on it.

To be honest, if those exotics have half decent runes or sigils it would be better to try and salvage those out (good luck with that) and TP those. Often you’ll make your gold back on those rather than on the whole item itself.

Yellows have a chance of a precursor, because if they have a chance of exotic and since precursors ARE exotic quality, then there’s a chance for it to be a precursor.
