Not posting this ont he bug section due to the content.

I play Gw2 since the release and have played it active. I am now busy making Bolt and try to get Zap in the Mystic Forge. I spended over 150 Gold on exotic Swords to try to get zap. Now a friend wants to make the incinerator… (U prob nows where this is going…) He spends 20 gold on RARE Daggers and voilá, Spark appears 0.o

Now I feel sad :’(

Don’t play with the forge its just not worth it, its just Anets way of removing mats/exotics/rares etc from the game.

That’s really not a bug though, just pure dumb luck, I spent almost 800g on my first forged pre and on the same day had a friend get one within his first 10-15 attempts.. some are just luckier than others it seems.

The forge is good for a lot of things (transmuting mats, mystic weapons that require no skill to build, making superior siege) but getting exotics it is not anything but a toilet you are throwing perfectly good ecto down. 4X rares, level 79-80 rares to get a “chance” at an exotic and a probability of a precursor so low it barely registers as a number? No thanks, salvage ’em and pray for a good drop fighting.

Only thing I’ve been forging is the axes I get with dungeon tokens/output exotics. Everything else either gets salvaged or sold.

Keep trying. Or grind gold to save enough to buy your precursor from TP.

You are being inefficient with your tokens. It’s better to gamble on other higher-priced precursor weapon types such as greatswords, daggers or staves.
